The fact that you'd post that you're straightedge in your sig is solid proof that you ARE following a trend. They had people that didn't do drugs, drink etc before the straightedge SCENE was invented. They're called sober people and they didn't shove their sobriety in people's faces. They kept it to themselves unless asked because they weren't trying to be cool they were just staying clean.
