well you could use any skin that you want,.
seiji's tiger skin is made up of the orange snake skin from the lotus , black stripes black freckles from the masquerade and his soft fur stomach is made from he dragon muscle pose in the shadowlegend.

while carabel's fur is the blue body dye gloves to make her fingers blonde fur for her chest and diamon dog for the muzzle.

well for dogs you have:
diamond dog items (4 different colors of those)
the puppy cosplays
bad moon
wulf item sets

and for cats well there is a s**t ton of those.

it al;l depends on if you want the feline or the canine to be the dominant gene pool in your character is which you go towards.
fopr carabel the deer is the submissive due to the only deer part of her is her horns
if i had to say it was the feliine body and ears but the muzzle and tail are canine so the cat is the domiant gene pool in her.

well alot of my fursonas/characters all were either created by mistake ofr for a certain purpose.
for example..
seiji the tiger is a male version of koto the tiger who at the time was originally was just a tiger warrior avi i had. and koto was created to be seiji's twin sister cause he was made form her XP

as for how do you make them well first you have to go with a species you love like are entruiged in or make you own species up like carabel is a fusion of feline deer and wolf species.

a very lazy girl in college doing the bare minimum (as in just going to college since she was told to and only doing it just to get a deploma no degree or higher learning)
though she is very athletic and her classmates know this so she is thier honorary stand in when they need someone to hold one of thier players spots if they are sick or injured.

depnds on what you are making faust bottle needs 15 Faustine and they are like 2.5M each to make erebus moon I need one mercury's moon and that's a 6M+ item but caches can be between 30k - 1M each

it depends getting to lvl 2 is a good idea cause you can make cache's and cases and sell in the market place but getting to lvl 10 is really expensive and not much profit til then, you could make profit if you are lvl 10 making rare expensive but getting there is hard
