Um... the fabric can cost between $15-$20, per yard. You'd need about... four yards, maybe more if you make a lot of mistakes. And you want a functioning hood. Then you'd get the zipper, and wide double zips are... $5-$10. then the chain things, cost I dunno what. Plus thread, which is cheap. And then the time it'd take to sew. And if quality is what you want, that's a lot of time. So it's cheaper to make, but way harder. and I honestly think if time were worth money, it'd be better to buy it.

That's the ideal stuff yes. Some people find other substitutes, but it usually just looks like a fitted garbage bag. The PVC is the way to go, if you have a man enough sewing machine for it. And that stuff really doesn't allow mistakes, so you gotta get it right the first time. And go easy on the pins. It's also not cheap.

I have a pattern. I just gotta figure it out. But it'd be really freakin hard to sew. There aren't many fabrics that work for those coats, and they're hard fabrics to work with.
how'd you figure that out? I guess I could see it, since he tosses those chakrams around.

I think the chains would annoy me. I take the strings out of my sweatshirt hoods for that very reason.

told ya they were good. I wish I knew where Demyx time got there coats, cause I don't think it was there, but they have nice coats. And you know what I realized, if I got it a lined and stuff, I could totally take the chains off and just wear it like a kick a** black leather trench coat. I think I might just have to do that. Maybe. We'll see. It's still a lot of money. Ooo but I want a kick a** black leather trench coat so much.

I found a site that makes really nice ones, but you have to claim a time slot and they're 200 dollars. And they're almost all booked for 2010.
