About
Username: Creapy_One. Yes, I'm aware it's not spelled correctly. Been aware for going on five years now.
Name: Kat. That's all you'll get outta me. Oh, Kat Yasai. Fictional last name used by all of the Muffin Soldiers.
Age: <.< >.> 15. I be a youngin'. Matters naught.
Hobbies: Playing trumpet, Listening/watching/reading about Rent and any other appealing broadways. Playing Video games such as: The Legend of Zelda and Kingdom Hearts series.
Favorite Music: Rent soundtracks both broadway and Movie, though I prefer Rosario Dawson and Tracie Thoms, don't open up a bottle of Hatorade, though. Tick, Tick... Boom! Soundtrack, Soundtrack of Thoroughly Modern Millie, other musicals of varying genres, West Side Story and Chicago included. Also the Aquabats and Reel Big Fish. Oh, and I also indulge in some Weird Al. And of course anything we play in band.
Band Status: Trumpet player. Looking for another instrument for scholarship reasons, resolved to start three hour practice sessions after the school Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, is over in hopes of making it to the Varsity Jazz Band. Explained later.
Favorite Movie: Rent.
Favorite Book: The Rent Bible.
Idol/Role Model/Hero: Jonathan Larson.
Current Events/Goals:
-Work up nerve to ask Band Director why Hick-Boy is first trumpet when he can barely play.
-Tell Hick-Boy off for being a freakin' sexist pig and general jerk.
-Practice Thoroughly Modern Millie Music so the Musical is a breeze.
-Practice for three hours once pit is over - sadness - in hopes of improving range, endurance, and tone quality. I swear I'm going to make Varsity Jazz Band THIS year if it kills me. I should already be in it, but oh well.
-Absorb as much Music Theory as possible before next year in hopes of getting ahead of the game when I take the actual class.
Currently:
-Reading a way overdue book, "The White Dragon"
-In Orchestra pit for Thoroughly Modern Millie
-Practicing Jump roping in class so as not to fail Phys Ed. >.< I can't for the life of me jump rope forwards. Hope that doesn't matter much.
-Wiped out from TMM rehearsals, but loving it anyway.
Determined to:
-Get into Varsity Jazz Band THIS year, no matter what.
-Absorb as much Music Theory and Theatre information as possible. Already stated.
Noticably, I'm pretty dead-set on getting to Varsity Jazz Band. My Band Director put me in JV... I was always under the impression I was better than my co...sophomore, Adam, but apparenly I'm not. As if this wasn't enough of a Collins-Slap to the face, I'm not even first trumpet in JV.
Suspicion: Band Director believes David the Hick-boy will slit his wrists if he's a junior who is both:
-In Junior Varsity Jazz Band.
-Second to a Sophomore.
(*) Bonus: Second to a FEMALE. Young Hick-boy is a sexist.
Solution:
-Practice three hours a day when Pit is over in hopes of improving all aspects of trumpet playing.
-Talk to Band Director to confirm/dispell suspicion.
- Kat, the Trumpet-crazed devoted Band Nerd.
