Your Mind Is My Playground
Cassandra Nova was introduced by Grant Morrison in his run of New X-men (circa 2001). She is an arch nemesis of Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-men. The Shi'ar have defined her as a mummudrai- life's first encounter with the "other." During pre-natal development, she and Charles Xavier had a fight in the womb. Cassandra was seemingly killed in this battle. But in actuality, her consciousness lived on, and assembled a body of waste cell matter.
Years later, after the founding of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, she returned to take her revenge. She single handedly caused the massacre of 16 million mutants in a Sentinel attack on the island of Genosha. Knowing that this action, would draw the X-men's attention, she allowed herself to be captured. Her intentions were to gain access to the telepathy enhancing machine called cerebra. Using her telepathy she would be able to locate all the mutants in the world and kill them in one swift blow. The X-men battled her, and with the help of Emma Frost, defeated her. Or so they thought. Cassandra Nova had been stealthly replacing her psyche with that of Charles Xavier. In addition, the blood she showered the X-men with in battle was tainted with nanotechnology targeted to attack their immune systems. When the exchange of Charles' psyche with her own was complete, he was left in her broken body. She set out to gain the advanced weaponry and support from the Shi'ar Empire. Turning the empress Lilandra Neramani mad, she took control of the empire and launched an attack against the X-men. With weakend immune systems, and an impending battle from an alien race, the X-men battled Cassandra again. By this time Phoenix, Jean Grey had uncovered the secret of the psyche switch. In an effort to save the dying Charles Xavier's consciousness, she developed a plan to splinter his mind among every mutant on earth. When Cassandra returned to the Xavier Institute to finish her plan of annlihilating the mutant race, she found that part of Charles waiting for her. He used his powers to force her out of his body. Afterwards Cassandra Nova's consciousness was imprisoned in the shape-shifting body of the Shi'ar superguardian Stuff, by Emma Frost and the Stepford Cuckoos. Jean and Xavier worked to 'reprogram' Cassandra Nova as a student of the Institute.
It's been hinted at, that Cassandra Nova first came in contact with Emma Frost during her attack on Genosha. And that this encounter is responsible for triggering Emma Frost's secondary mutation- Diamond Skin. Later, after Jean's death at the hand of Magneto, the X-men restructured their teams. Emma was revisited by a revived Cassandra Nova, who was now a member of the Hellfire Club. Cassandra reached out to Frost, to gain assistance in destroying the X-men.
Gaia Bio: Writer Grant Morrison, in the Here Comes Tomorrow Arc, establishes that Cassandra Nova later becomes successfully reprogrammed as the mysterious mutant "Ernst." My RP will explore whether or not that reprogramming was a success or if the menace still lurks.

Cassandra Nova. Lovely to see you've managed to slither out of hiding. I'd say you were missed, but truthfully one can never go too long without seeing that freakishly rotund head of yours.
