It's about humans that are randomly selected by the goddes Nyx to become vampires and some survive the transformation while others don't. The main character Zoey is a special fledgling and has a filled in moon crescent and all these strange things happen at the vampire school. It's pretty intense.

oh. but Grave Of the Fireflies is sad too. its about a little girl with his big brother trying to survive from an air raid and their mum died from that attack, and their dad was part of the soldiers that killed the people. so at the end the little cute girl dies at the end cos theres not much food left.
