Personally I think it's the energy in the fire...And trust me, my friends that know about me in real life would spring on me if I tried to get blood from anyone if they were bleeding..
It's quite the annoyance...
As for the smoking thing, I would disapprove of it, but it's your life I suppose...-sigh-
