Well, I haven't gotten too far into it., But the first one is based in this world where you have skaa slaves and Nobles. In this empire, nobles had an ability called allomancy, which allow them to "burn" metals in their stomach to give certain abilities. And if you can burn all ten, you're called Mistborn, rather than a Misting, who may only burn one metal.
Now, there's this empire that has been ruled by the emperor for a thousand years, and a thief gathers a crew together to overthrow the Final Empire.
