Hi there! You probably decided to check out my profile because of my avatar. People can't really get a sense of who I am because of my cluttered avatar and so they treat me differently. It makes me a little sad because it's just a hobby - I don't do it to flaunt my wealth - so instead of just a bit of avatar art and a recently played songs tracker, I've put up a real "about me" section.

To start off, most people can't tell whether I'm a guy or a girl because they didn't read the box above this one, so scroll up and look at it real quick. You can also kind of tell by my avatar's feet, but not so much anymore. Now that you know I'm a girl... my name is Jess and I am a seventeen year old from Pennsylvania. You can see a pic of me here.

I am not the unintelligent n00b you may have been expecting to see. Sorry. I may be a drop out but I'm pretty smart. Reading and writing are two of my most treasured hobbies so in that way I'm pretty nerdy. I also love art and photography. I'm a rather hardcore amateur when it comes to photography and have a somewhat deft hand when it comes to chalk and oil pastels.

Some other stuff I'm interested in: The Sims 2 (The only game I play religiously.), traveling (Will be in Egypt for at least 5 months this year!), music (OK Go, The Knife, Lily Allen, Mika, Spoon, Bowling For Soup, Loo & Placido, Lady Sovereign, Louis XIV, Peaches), and fashion/interior design. I also loooove horror movies.

You'll be interested to know that I'm not a huge anime/manga person. Sure, I've read my fair share of mangas and watched a few animes, but very few people on Gaia haven't. I don't know why I joined but I stayed for the avatars and conversation. Certainly not for the love of anime.
