Got a nice suprise today, too. a lift back to my barracks from the hospital along with the discovery that i've been given a promotion to Serjeant and extended leave for recovery. once again neither of which i deserve.
The promotion is a little scary though >.>;;

Nah, they were ringing for about a week. And we're trained for maximum squad survival. We're only supposed to pull a stunt like that as a last resort.Recently discovered that they had decided to put a backplate and kevlar weave in the backpack, that and the weight of me and my LMG mighta had something to do with it >.<

Basically because what I did was stupid. Just got back from a patrol down the Hemland river.about a mile from base a grenade landed in our laps out of nowhere.I kicked it out of the land rover, pulled off my backpack and webbing before throwing them on top of the grenade, jumping on them and yelling "Grenade!". I thought i was doomed, because they british army's been issued with lighter combat armor, but somehow my kit bag and webbing took most of the blast.

Hey there, not sure if you remember me....just returned to Gaia after a bit of a hiatus. anyhow, been cleaning up my profile and noticed a comment you left there from like '07 expressing concern.

Not to worry, i'm alive and well. Ended up joining the marines and getting shipped to Afghanistan. just got back home a month or so back
