ya there are definitely much better things out there.

a really fun and easily accessible one you could try is Judo.

It's really practical and effective and they have classes everywhere.

I'm a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

I got so bored with that sort of structure though. After sampling some Jujitsu and Judo classes, my taste changed to a more traditional style.

For the past several months I've been studying Mantis Kung Fu. I don't actually have a teacher, but I've memorized several forms from videos and I have a friend I can practice with. It's so much more fun in its interpretation and applicability. Kung Fu appears to be much less practical in its movements, but if you interpret it correctly, it can be very relevant to actual combat.
