Upon Midnight I Dance
The clock tower struck midnight. The sound of it swept through the streets and between the cracks of windows and doors, the darkness crept in. The sun had fallen behind the horizon.
Lulls of sleep chipped at reality’s skin and every creature slipped underneath tides of rolling slumber. Pinpricks of light left their marks between the dark waves of shadows washing across the buildings and in-between they alleys. The looming branches of trees fanned out from trunks planted in the corners of neighbouring houses, breeding darker patches of ink onto the scenery.

A piercing starlight, luminous orb of silver shimmered, sauntering through the inklings of the wispy black canvas and softened the dark, mixing its dye into a pleasant conspiracy to the eye. The curtains of the days act fell shut, and the night began.

On the final strike, a deafening silence took over and it was then that our John Doe awakened.

And heck, at least it doesn't take half an hour to read yours xD
