I think they are the same, Photoshop is actually a programme that used to edit photos.
GIMP is for drawing and picture editing while SAI is a plain drawing tool.

Photoshop needs to be bought. There is no free download of the programme after Pirate Bay is blocked. emotion_puke

You can try GIMP, it is almost same with PS and it's free. wink

Or you can try this SAI tool too.
I got it from a friend here and don't know how she got it free. o.0
Generally, SAI tool needs to buy too.

After finished download GIMP, just click it, then Install>OK>OK>Run>Finish or something like that. emotion_c8
Click anything but cancel. Just follow it.

I actually draw on a paper first and then scan into my computer. yum_puddi
That art in my profile was done in Photoshop. Sometimes I'll use GIMP for background or gradient.
