I can definitely relate, my avatars nowadays are so much less inspired than the avatars I used to make a couple years back. This is probably a really unpopular opinion but I really dislike the whole color scheme thing gaia pushes nowadays. I get that it's cheaper for their labor costs, since artists just need to make a few trendy item sets and the recolor team just spends a couple hours recoloring them into like 10 more cash shop sets. But it makes me scrap a lot of the avatars I make since I feel they lack creativity or any interesting substance to them. I guess that's why I've been thinking a bit about what is it I log on for. The whole draw of this site for me was avatars, but now that i have perma avatar block, I dunno anymore why I come back. I used to be big on vending and rigs too but the MP is too easy to play now and rigs are just..stale I guess. I dunno, what keeps you logging on still? I find it interesting that we've both been playing for quite a few years already so there has to be some quality of the site that draws us back right? XD





I forgot if I asked you this but have you seen the project recolor thread in the GCD? I'd have to say thats the most blatantly shameless and vitriolic thread on gaia right now. Theres a lot of annoying elitist and overreacting regulars in that thread that frequently post their insecurities, such as the time when old management returned and Lanzer hiked ticket prices up and people started posting about how their gaia dreams were crushed, how they can't make x popular item in x popular color scheme of the month and how they were having physical panic attacks. Or the time where recolor staff made a new NPC to handle the project recolor forum and that NPC gave out a few rainbow tickets to users that the staff favored, leading to a lot of brown nosing and regulars throwing BFs. Or how quite a few people complain about how expensive usermades are and how they can never afford them and how they make pennies off theirs. And then you see them in the exchange giving crap offers to other people, inflating their own usermades to ridiculous prices, and just being super assholish to people trying to trade with them. I could go on forever about how that thread is a cesspool but I should probably stop, lol. I think it's what turned me off tickets in general, the thought of interacting with these people to look for a stylist license is just...ugh.





I have to admit, I was one of those people obsessed with seabreeze. I think it's just a really interesting and unusual color, not something you see on things everyday. I paid an arm and a leg for several of the usermades which I kind of regret now but oh well. You're lucky you cashed out of that market quickly though, haha. It looks like the SB market crashed now, and the color scheme is dying now that its more "affordable". I think it says a lot about the userbase in general and how they have a tendency to bandwagon over something since its popular and expensive over wearing things they actually like. Its also why I roll my eyes nowadays when people use their tickets to recolor items in trendy color scheme of the month to try and profit. Peoples' tastes are so fickle their items will probably be dated the moment its released anyway, they may as well make something they'll enjoy in the long run. 





I want to follow site feedback but I feel like I shouldn't get too invested into the future of the site. Honestly, I'm not too optimistic about any of the new features they're pushing, their track record has been pretty abysmal. I get that they need to take risks and use some of the gaia revenue in order to develop other more potentially lucrative projects, but I really really wish they'd do a lot more research into their customer base instead of making more embarrassing "fellow kids" projects. SinceI think they're still in the red right now I'm skeptical that gaia is their main priority right now. I think it's why I don't go to SF often, the last I read a

I definitely feel the same way. Monthly rigs and lucky catch items have been incredibly derivative, I don't think I've added anything to my WL in ages. I'd say items in the monthly gatcha are the closest to the variety of items we used to get in the pre-2014ish monthly rigs. We're probably in the minority though, judging by how much units recolored LQIs and tickets sell each week. I dunno, I guess that's another reason why I'm burnt out. I just don't like how rehashed everything is and how elitist and obnoxious the ticket community is.
Rates for rigs now are absolute trash, have you been playing them recently? I average maybe a victory every ~30-40ish rigs now. Lucky catch is definitely a ripoff, and the only worthwhile rigs to play are the pseudo-victories. Even so the odds of getting the actual victory are miniscule, and even then rates for the super rare wearable is on par with the rig pet. The only item releases I think gaia does right are the rereleases, I like the bundle format but its impossible to do rereleases evenly considering the ridiculous amount of recolors and crap gaia churns out each month.

Anyways, sorry for my mini rant there. Aside from all that I'm doing fine, just trying to cut out the amount of time I spend on this site since I need to be adulting instead of getting worked up over pixels, haha. Hope you're doing okay as well, I haven't heard from you in a while.

Yeah thats kind of the reason why I need a break, the community has been pretty toxic lately and I hate how they're pushing crappy offsite stores again and gold gens. That and I probably need to do more productive things than check my stores all the time.

Are you sure you don't want anything? You'd be doing me a favor by taking these items off my hands, and you've always been really nice to me so I really don't mind,
