Oh, it was last minute? I was on HMS Surprise last July and they whispered to us that she would be in Pirates 4.

I hope to see the Lady Washington in person one day. Ideally since my fiance and I were brought together from our shared interest in Norrington, she should be the ship we get married on. But HMS Surprise is lovely too, and it is easier for us to go CA since his family lives over there.

Well, the ending for the lieutenant wasn't a major thing for other fans, and it wasn't something I would've spread around.

I take hints easily, all you needed to say was prepare yourself for the worst. I just wanted to conveniently take a bathroom break or something so I didn't have to see anything that would sadden me.

The reason they do this in these movies, is because American films feel the need to keep rebattling the American Revolution. Eddie Izzard the comedian actually did a comedy talk about it. I guess in these films they equate the pirates with the Americans and anyone in Royal Navy attire is automatically evil.

I just hate how un-christian (not that I'm religious, but they made him look like a fool with no decency).... And if he had been quiet for 5 seconds nothing would've happened. It was in all honesty out of character. Remember that he was always the sensible lieutenant. He was always on step ahead of everyone, and made sure that the right decisions were made-recall his orders on the Endeavour when Beckett had the blue screen of death.

What I loved about the first movie was that there was a balance. The navy was neither good nor evil. they were just doing their job. Governor Swann sums it nicely at the end of the movie saying that Piracy can be justified in some circumstances. So there can be bad pirates, good pirates, etc. I don't really wanna get the original quote lol. I'm just exhausted.

I've resigned myself from being a fan of the series. I'll always be the fan of the original, but nothing more. It's more than just the death of 2 characters. I didn't understand Black Beards curse or anything, and was rather annoyed that the writers couldn't come up with a better reason for the absence of Pintel , Ragetti, Cotton, Marty, Murtogg and Mullroy (Barbossa's crew on the Pearl at the end of 3rd movie, he told them they'd all go to the Fountain of Youth...) but since they didn't want to bring all those characters back, they came up with the death excuse again. They are very uncreative writers.

I guess it all boils down to this: I thought the sequels to the Pirates series would be more promising. I never had faith in Disney sequels, or example, Cinderella 2 and 3, Cinderella was a classic, but there wasn't a point to the 2nd and 3rd, you know what I mean? I guess because Pirates was live action and not animated, I'd thought it be different and great-like the Lord of the Rings series or something. But I was wrong...

All they want to do with the series is make money on Jack Sparrow. Jack Sparrow is fine, he's hilarious, I love him. But he was never meant to be the only thing about the series...but he sells so, this is what we have now. The quality of story telling was lost.

Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to better explain my frustration with the film.

My fiance and I plan on sticking with movies and things like Master and Commander. We plan on writing stories that better portray the British Royal Navy, since this series did not do them any justice whatsoever.

(The one thing I did enjoy from the film was the two gorgeous shots of HMS Surprise/Providence! I plan on getting married on that ship in May 2012, so it was really really exciting. The mermaids were cool and I thought the story of the mermaid and the missionary was sweet. )

Yes, it was terrible how Elizabeth Swann treated him. How I hate that ungrateful woman...she was my rival in love.

But wolves in ladies clothing aren't all that bad, my good Admiral wink Haha, oh the irony of using that phrase in a conversation with me! (Capitaine Isabelle La Louve was granted the mystical power of shape shifting during her adventures in North America, during the time she spent with the natives, her animal is the wolf, a beautiful, but terrifying dangerous white wolf with blue eyes). But no worries, I am now a privateer in the employ of England. No good Englishmen need to fear this wolf wink

I didn't know there was a contract, I'm sorry.

I was really upset when Admiral Norrington died, so I'm just scared of the next movie...I hope you at least understood where I was coming from. I didn't mean to be an annoyance.
