it helps, but the course is designed so people with minimal computer skills can pass it. you really only need to know how to turn a computer on, restart, open a file, open a folder, right and left click and follow directions. a lot of the course is installing various operating systems in different ways, pretty easy (with the exception of unix, that can be a pain in the a**).

what you really need to be good with is people >_<. customer service is a huge part of my job and it's the one thing they really can't train you on. everything you need to know about computers to do your job is taught to you.

honestly i don't know... i just always kind of knew i'd end up enlisting. as for the AF, well i shopped around the services and the AF gave me the best deal- best enlistment bonus, best job choices and best entrance rank... as for the computer job though i chose that one because computers are the way of the future!

it's not bad. i work on computers and do tech support so most of my time is spent on the phone helping people with their computer problems. at times it can be very annoying because some people are very computer illiterate or worse- they like to throw their rank around and act like they're uber important, impatient people annoy me. i can't help those who would rather b***h and moan than explain to me exactly what's going on. i need specifics, "i can't get my god damn e-mail" doesn't help.



other than the occasional comp'tards and jerks it's a nice job. plenty of room for advancement and my position is secure. i like most of the people i work with and even though the military is extremely asinine and stressful at times it's enjoyable.

o wow! that really sucks! those adoption certificates are such a bust now too... they deflated so quickly i was scrambling to sell my stuff before i lost too much of a profit. by the way, i like your background!

OMG! You have to go to your Prom! I went and I'm glad I did. because 1, it is fun getting all dressed up and seeing your friends all dressed up. I was all goth in HS and everyone thought I was going to make a big scene, but then I showed up in a tux and evey one was all impressed with me. It was awesome. So if you want the opinion of a stranger who's opinion you didn't ask for- Go! Or at least do a fancy dinner with friends like you said in your SF post. (^____^)
