Medical Flaw: Borderline Disorder/Paranoia Schizophrenia. Currently on treatment with Clozapine and other medications.
Personality: Space's personality could be described as being involuntarily volatile and excruciatingly sensitive. Normally, he resides in a laid back and carefree disposition, smiling and laughing, making jokes and even adopting a bit of a mischievous streak. But Space has a quick temper that always teeters on the verge of release, all it needs is the appropriate provocation. Space's personality is a day to day thing. Most days he may be content and all smiles where as occasionally he prefers to quietly brood in a deluge of depression and self-pity. Everything is subject to immediate change, however, as his emotional state is kept on a dangerously delicate hair-trigger, tuned to erupt under the tiniest amount of pressure. There are certain elements that can help to alleviate some of the emotional instability. Unless he felt the need to viciously protect his son, Space is almost always calm and serene when in loved ones' presences (unless they're antagonizing him of course!)
Likes: Automotive repairs, builds, and restorations. Video games and electronics. New Orleans and drinking. Collecting odd and/or gross things. Pranking, teasing, and joking with his friends. Spending time with his family. New Orleans Saints.

Scars: One rather nasty crescent shaped scar on his stomach and a slightly smaller one paralleling it on his back. Deep cuts across his wrists and forearms from past self-mutilation. Star scarification on the back of his left shoulder. Scars from minor cuts and scratches here and there.

Random Facts/Info:
- Space does not like being called by his birth name (Spencer). It's one of the easiest ways to get him upset, and the reason being is that he has not been able to remember anything positive happening when his full name is used.
- Space received his nickname from his brother, Keith, and subsequently bestowed upon him the nickname, Kiku.
- Prefers casual clothes (jeans, t-shirts) to formal wear.
- Has an odd affinity for horizontal stripes.
- He can not swim very well.
- He can not ride a bike.
- Is a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan.
- He prefers Dixie beer to any cocktail or wine.
- Drives a rusted, black (but fully functional) 1997 Ford F-150

- Has a particularly hard time handling betrayal because of his disorder. Trust is easily earned, and just as easily lost, but impossibly difficult to rebuild.
Relationships:
With his brother, Keith: Space and Keith had a bit of a rocky start to their friendship. Feeling betrayed by his brother when he was living in a hospital and receiving not even a birthday card from Kiku, he fostered a deep hatred. It was only after moving from New Orleans to Chicago, and living with his brother was Space able to overcome this hatred. Though they have their occasional fights and disagreements, Keith is one of the few positive influences in Space's life, and more often than not he seeks his brother out for some wisdom and advice. Space would gladly take a bullet for his brother, or do anything in his power to prevent any harm that would come to Keith, and it is often this blind loyalty that has gotten Space into trouble a couple of times. He often teases and plays with his brother, sometimes pushing Keith's patience a bit too far for his own good. In the rare situation that his brother be the one needing support, Space will throw off his playfulness in favor of a more supportive, and receptive attitude.
With his son, Dominick: There isn't anything in the world Space wouldn't do for his son, and it goes without saying he's been forced into uncomfortable situations to protect Dominick. Amazing and proud of his son's self-sufficiency and intelligence, he often takes a supportive stance on allowing his son to have the most normal childhood possible rather than advancing him into more challenging classes. Dominick's presence in Space's life has certainly settled him down, and he's often able to keep a clearer head around his son. However, should any harm come, or threaten to come to his son, he can turn into a positively horrible monster and lash out at even the best of friends who would bring harm to his son in the smallest way. (FUTURE RELATIONSHIP smile Dominick often feels it is his duty to maintain the household while his father is at work, and Space is extremely grateful for this. Between work, and Dominick concentrating on school, the two often go out to a movies, or other father-son activities. He is immensely proud of his son's success in school, but often encourages him to get out and have some fun. Being that his son has grown into a man, Space isn't as protective of him, but would still ferociously defend or vindicate Dominick should any harm befall him.
With his daughter, Roxanne: It goes without saying that Roxanne is as precious to Space as Dominick is, and he would stop it nothing to keep her safe and happy. Right now, seeing as she's an infant, he doesn't have too much of a developed relationship with her. (FUTURE RELATIONSHIP smile Roxanne is the apple of Space's eye. He loves his daughter, and goes above and beyond to tell her, much to her embarrassment. He is delighted that they share a lot of common interests, but feels a small sense of unsaid guilt for the illness they both share. Being that this is the case, he often tries to protect her a little more, knowing the unfairness and harshness the world can bring for people afflicted with disorders. Despite Roxanne being an independent individual, it's her father that she seeks out for advice if he's available, and he's more than happy to guide her.
With his friend, Aire: Space's relationship with Aire is difficult to pinpoint for a variety of reasons. Space views Aire as a very complex creature with bad attitudes and a very constipated emotional state. In fact, when Space met Aire, he enjoyed teasing and poking the man, bringing him to a boiling anger as quickly as he could to get a few laughs. But after a very messy food fight, his opinion of Aire changed. Space is a loyal friend to Aire, the kind that doesn't ask questions about his past, and doesn't care that Aire isn't comfortable with opening up to him. Naive to Aire's particular brand of humor, he's often found himself in uncomfortable situations, one example being the time he was sinking on a bike in the middle of a lake after Aire promised to "teach" him how to ride one. Their relationship is usually casual and playful, and Space will often try his best to be supportive of Aire by giving him knowingly stupid advice. Though their relationship is built on trust, and deep manly love!
With his "friend", Crow: This relationship has quite a few complexities to say the least, and if the two aren't tearing flesh from each others bones, then civility can sometimes be observed, and on the rare occasion a comradeship. With betrayal felt on both sides, it's often a wonder how the two can stand to be in the same room, but despite everything they've been through, Space does care a great deal about Crow, and often worries for his health and happiness. Loyalty to his friend runs deep and unsaid, and Space has been able to over-look Crow's flaws- no matter how disapproving he is of his friend's lifestyle choices. Often mischievous and friendly with Crow in their civility, Crow stands as one of the few individuals who can trigger Space's irrational emotions and rage with the slightest of ease. And though Crow is mostly a negative influence on Space's life, he's one of Space's closest friends.
With his friend, Amelie: Originally close friends for a couple of years, Space and Amelie's unlikely relationship was spontaneously jettisoned to the next level. Despite their vast differences, styles, and personalities, they share common grounds and interests. Space has endless respect for Amelie's strength and audacity, an understanding sympathy for her plights, and an intense compulsion to protect and support her even though she's perfectly capable of caring for herself. There are times he feels a sense of guilt for being unable to financially provide the lifestyle Amelie is accustomed to, but he tries to make up for this compromise by smothering her in affection and engaging her in activities like paintball and other childish games. Sometimes he wonders how she can so easily put up with his immaturity. Despite her jagged past and flirtatious habits that sometimes make him insecure, Space truly loves Amelie and is thankful for her influence.
