Etcetera Town (More Fleshed out version)
More Detailed Version of Etcetera Town. XD

Etcetera Town
Description: Etcetera Town is a fairly large town, located south of Barton. It's also the largest non-human population on Gaia (only one of it's residents is human. The rest are various non-human creatures)
The town is very chaotic looking, with houses and buildings built on top of each other in a seemingly random fashion. Buildings of various Architectural styles may connect to form a giant chaotic structure. Some structures (such as the Sans and Serif's Store and the Etcetera Commons) are even magically suspended in midair!
Due to the complexity of the towns architecture, various methods are used to get around. There are various ladders and staircases for navigating between buildings, but most residents use the Gates to travel between various difficult to reach places.
Gates are special devices that link parts of Etcetera with each other. The feeling of going through a gate is like space twisting around you to place you at the other side.
Even light distribution in Etcetera is provided by Solar Crystals, which redirect sunlight and provide the city with power. (Downside is unique in that it only has Moon Crystals, which simulate moonlight. Most of the residents of Downside Etcetera are light sensitive)

Etcetera has three districts, distinguishable by elevation.

Underbelly: Etcetera's literal underground. It's infested with animated, so not as many Etcetreans live there, but you'll find the occasional cave dweller.

Downside: The lower levels of Etcetera, favored by creatures such as Vampires, due to the low light levels (and was designed as such). Somewhat seedy, it's considered to be Etcetera's "Underground". It's just as safe as the rest of Etcetera, if a bit "unpleasant" seeming to visitors.

Midtown: The middle levels of Etcetera. There is much more light here than in Downside. There's an extremely varied population here. The art and music scenes in midtown are huge! Music, theater, visual arts, all kinds can be found here, often made by some unexpected people.
Many artisan goods are available here as well.

Skywalk: The upper most levels of Etcetera. There is quite a bit of light here, and many solar crystal receptors here provide light and power to the rest of the city. This area is favored by creatures with the gift of flight, such as Imps, Tengu, and Dragonmen. There are a variety of high end shops and clubs as well.

Etcetera Commons: The Highest point in Etcetera. Gates to the commons exist in ever Level of Etcetera, and the intial entry gate leads directly here.
Etcetera Commons is home of Sans and Serif's (The Magic Shop de facto city government). It also contains a Wayfarer's station, (a pseudo Train Station). A large stone in the center of the Commons keeps the city safe from monsters. It's unknown how the Commons Float, (Ray claims that it's due to special interaction with Gravity), but the flotation doesn't seem to be dependent on the towns power, so Etcetera is in no danger of being crushed.

Shops in Etcetera:

Sans and Serif's
Location: Etcetera Commons
Shopkeeper: Ray Serif, the Eccentric Human Magician, and de facto Mayor.
Specializes in: Potions, artifacts, and charms.

The Nest
Location: Skywalk
Shopkeeper: A Tengu. ...If this shop is made, DrinkyTengu has to design the Tengu NPC. XD And various other NPCs.
Specializes in: Various Clothing.

Were Wares
Location: Midtown
Shopkeeper: Lawrence, a Werewolf who looks fierce, but he's actually a real softie once you get to know him.
Specializes in: Various artisan goods. Mostly hand held, or accessories. Other items are available as well.

Under the Bridge
Location: Downside
Shopkeeper: A Troll
Specializes in: A "Black Market". The items may change, and the legal status is... questionable. XD

History: Founded several hundred years ago by Vincent Serif and Ariana Sans, it has served as a refuge for non human Gaians for years. The town is said to be hidden from prying eyes, using one of those "old weird illusion spells that only let you see it if it wants to be found, or something."
The town has various entry gates, all of which teleport the user directly to the Commons. The "Mayor" of the town is the shopkeeper of the old Magic Shop, Ray Serif, although he's fairly young, and still pretty new at the job...
The town revealed itself once the animated appeared, and made an alliance with the other towns to deal with the new threat. (Interestingly enough, some of the residents of Etcetera are former residents of the other towns...)

Events: The towns biggest festival is the "Court of a Million Masks", a city wide masquerade ball where Etcetereans wear various enchanted masks, each with it's own special illusion or effect. They then dance, feast, and party in the streets throughout the week.
Sans and Serif's traditionally sells various magical items around this time, including enchanted masks, "Bags of Mystery", new potions, and various new charms. Various games are played as well, and the winners recieve special tokens redeemable for special items at Sans and Serif's (often new masks).
There's a contest at the end of the ball for the "King" and "Queen" of the Court, who are presented the "Royal Masks" by the previous winners. Replica Royal masks are often given out as party favors, though they're only magically created replicas.

Halloween is also a fun time of year for the residents of Etcetera, though according to Ray "It seems like every Halloween something horrible happens. It's why I've never gone to one of Gambino's Halloween parties. Though I do thank him for the population spike he provides every year."

Visting Etcetera: Etcetera is a fairly safe city most of the time, though the Underbelly has been sealed off to residents not carrying rings. Downside also has questionable areas as well, but most of the Downsiders are friendly towards visitors. Mostly. sweatdrop
It's quite easy to get lost in Etcetera, though the Golden Gates that lead to the Commons are fairly easy to find. Etcetera has many places to explore, and with a bit of exploring you can find many secrets.
To get to Etcetera, you can use the gate just south of Barton town, or speak with a Wayfarer representative at any of the train stations.
