The Quest of a Hero (part one)
"I-it is s-s-so cold," Yoru muttered, shivering a little. Even though he was wearing a winter coat and thick blue jeans, the cold temperature of the mountains were a bit too much. He really needed to get to Snowpoint City so he could get his seventh badge and to stop Team Galactic from destroying Lake Acuity. So much to do for such a young trainer.

A heavy wind picked up, blowing cold snow flakes into his face and hair. He shivered again, letting out a shuddering breath. Stupid snow, he thought, glaring half heartedly a head, There has to be a better way to do this...

Not to long after that thought, an idea popped into his head. "That's it!" he said, digging a heal ball out of his pocket, "Go, Rapidash!" he said happily, letting his beloved fire horse out. Rapidash let out neigh, the snow around its feet melting. It shook its head, not liking the cold air against its neck and mane.

Yoru ran up to Rapidash, after putting the heal ball away, and threw his arms around the horse's neck. "You're so warm!" Yoru said happily, enjoying the warmth of his pokemon, "Why didn't I think of this sooner?" Rapidash let out another neigh, loving the attention it got from its trainer.

Clumsily, Yoru climbed onto Rapidash. The warmth of the fire horse engulfed his body, making the young trainer smile happily. Rapidash let out a contented sound, not minding carting its trainer around as long as he was happy. "Thanks, Rapidash," he said happily, patting the horse's neck.

They had only been traveling for a few minutes when they came across and bundle in the snow. "Whoa," Yoru said, catching sight of a collapsed Umbreon. Yoru slid off of Rapidash and quickly made his way over to the black pokemon, stumbling a little fromt he deep snow. Imagine his surprise when he caught sight of an arm wrapped tightly around the Umbreon. "Oh!"

He quickly dug around the bundle, uncovering a young man. His lips were turning blue and he was shivering horribly. His brown hair and clothes were damp from the snow as was his Umbreon. Both were out cold. Yoru took off his coat and wrapped it around the trainer. "Rapidash, c'mere," he said to his glowing pokemon.

Without hesitation, Rapidash went to its trainer's side and knelt down. Yoru hefted the man onto his fire pokemon's back, hoping the flames would keep him warm. Next, Yoru dug an empty pokeball out of the man's bag and recalled the Umbreon. Being in a warm pokeball was all he could do for the dark pokemon for now.

"Let's get back to that Inn down the road," Yoru said to the Rapidash carrying the man, "And we have to hurry." Rapidash made a sound before turning around and trotting down the road to the Inn, Yoru right beside it. He held the pokeball close to his chest, hoping to provide more warmth to the pokemon inside. Hold on, he thought, afraid the two may be in worse condition than they appeared.

After the cold treck back to the Inn, Yoru purchased a room and plenty of soup and hot tea. The owner of the Inn helped Yoru carry the brunette up to the room and tucked him into bed. "Thank you," Yoru said with a bow to the owner. The man simply smiled and left the room with a promise to bring back soup.

Once the man was gone, Yoru got to work stripping the man into his boxers and covering him with a robe that was in the bathroom. Sleeping in a fluffy robe would be better than wet clothes. Yoru made sure the man was completely covered up in thick blankets before getting to work on his pokemon.

First was the Umbreon who was nearly frozen. Yoru gave it an Aspear berry to take care of its chills. The teen covered the dark pokemon with a blanket and set it beside the heater. Then he began checking the trainer's other five pokemon. His Arcanine seemed just fine, having curled up in its pokeball and increased its body temperature. He was surprised when he released a Lapras from a pokeball, he almost fell over. Seeing that it wasn't in bad condition, he returned it to its pokeball and set it on the beside table beside Arcanine's ball. The Dodrio and Electivire seemed to be fine as well, though the Dodrio was a little shaken up. Finally, he let out the last pokemon, staring in shock at the Aerodactyl. It stared back just as shocked to see a new trainer.

"I think you're fine," Yoru said in a squeaky voice, returning the ancient pokemon to the comfort of its pokeball, "Interesting collection..." He shook his head as he set the ball down on the table. He plopped down in the chair beside the heater, playing with a pokeball that he had set as a charm on a silver chain. He unclipped it and let out the pokemon that was inside.

Riolu sat on Yoru's lap, looking up at its partner with wide, red eyes. "Its been an interesting day, Riolu," he said, petting the little fighting pokemon, "A very interesting one."
