Thanksgivin'!
I hope everybody had a happy Thanksgiving. heart

I actually didn't eat too much! I forgot to give my turkey enough time to thaw, and our oven's retarded, so it was cooked really unevenly. The outside was too dry and the inside was still kind of raw. sweatdrop

So we kind of ignored the turkey, and everything else turned out really good!! Gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing (a recipe from Gourmet magazine...it had chestnuts and prunes in it, and it was reeeeeally tasty), and some damn good wine. cheese_whine And pumpkin pie. Real whipped cream. Yeah. And we just had our best friends over so it was just four people and it was really quiet and peaceful. Yay! heart They brought over a corn casserole that I attacked. I loved it, but Dan didn't like it, so I won't get to have it again unless I just make it for myself or something. sad

Then we walked over to our other friend's restaurant and hung out there for a while and had more yummy wine. heart Then we walked back home and had some pie.

It's funny how everytime we do something, something goes wrong. xd Wednesday I was trying to make turkey stock and after I was done (about 10:30 that night...it had been boiling for hours), I dropped it ALL on my poor toes. gonk So I ran to the bathtub and dunked my foot in icy water while my poor husband had to clean up the mess. It definitely could have been worse though! I kept a frozen bag of corn strapped to my foot for the rest of the night, and it was hard to sleep at first, but halfway through the night the cold had penetrated my toes enough that they stopped hurting completely, and I was able to throw the bag of corn out of the bed and sleep. My toes are still a little sensitive but they're OK. 3nodding

And it's not a party unless Dan breaks something. At least he didn't cut himself this time. sweatdrop Also, our giant green candle dripped wax from the end table to the floor. It made some really pretty wax icicles. whee Lucky for us our floor is hardwood and not carpeted! It was crazy. And fun. heart

Awww sorry to hear the turkey turned out not so good. We had turkey problems too. Our fridge is kind of sucky, it's hard to keep the freezer cold enough consistently. Some days everything's rock solid frozen, other days everything's mushy. The result is we always keep a bit too cold and stuff in the fridge gets a little frozen sometimes. So our turkey was partially frozen and it took twice as long to cook as the directions claimed. At least we managed to get it done... eventually. And it was really good when it was done.
