Pain That Lingers
He yelled at me and called me names
Called us names
He said to my face,
'At least I didn't hit'
Sometimes I wish he did
Because that pain is temporary
Words stay with you
And haunt you
They never leave
Always linger
Nobody understands the pain they cause
When they say hurtful things
He doesn't understand the pain he has caused
Or maybe he does...
