Specifically, I'm referring to the Lord of the Rings link in the Entertainment forum. Nobody ever frickin talks about the BOOK there. Just the dumb movie. Yeah, the movies were cool, awesome scenery, beautiful music, blah blah blah, we get it already. But if you actually want to talk LotR - like plot devices, the political subtext, or the REAl personalities of the characters (as someone who loved Legolas long before Mr. I'm-Not-As-Hot-As-People-Think-I-Am came along and butchered him, I have full authority to say this), you're stuck! All you ever see is this:







And you can't even start your own LITERATE LotR thread elsewhere to escape the n00bs, because it'll just get moved back to the LotR forum! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE LIKE THIS!?!?

It's unfair to not mention that there are occasionally some good threads, like trivia threads, or threads that point out that Haldir NEVER DIED, PERIOD, THE MOVIE DOES NOT COUNT. So there is some good stuff.

But the majority is crap. 7-7

Remind me never to visit that forum again... it's an insult to my love of Lord of the Rings. I'll go elsewhere, to some site where people actually have brains.
