I really hope Russell did honestly enjoy his day, and he's not just saying it to make us feel better in case it was lousy for him. It may not have been the best day we could have planned or had for him, but I tried my best and hopefully I did what it took.
This morning was a bit stressful, particularly because of what had been going on the day previous. I was trying to work out a schedule where we could do something for Russell on his birthday (we being myself, Russell, and possibly Sonja), but all these different plans or ideas kept popping up. I found out at the last second that there would be a bonus Anime Vegas today, which was nice because Russell might have a chance to go to one since he hasn't been able to the past several months. The problem I had was that when I discovered this, Sonja had already left to have her party with her friends so they could hang out and go drinking and party a little. She had planned to go see Russell today for a little while because it was his birthday of course, but what I had been getting from her talking to her the past couple of days was that she would only stay a little while.
Now, to sum it up I had the problem of getting Russell to come with me early in the morning to make it to Anime Vegas, and hoping that Sonja would just decide not to show up because she would be so hungover she wouldn't want to go anywhere but her bed, and hope she didn't actually show up finding out I'd led Russell away. To be honest the situation was a bit more towards saving my own a**, because I didn't want Sonja mad at me if she found out I ran off with Russell to the library when I knew she might come visit.
Of course, now I realize that it wasn't a factor, Sonja saw the message I left on the boards in time and planned accordingly, (see her journal for the info). I called Russell when I was almost there, but kind of hung up on him to make it in time because the bus was going by while I was on the phone. Jen and I tried to keep in contact with him at the library, so he had decided that if Sonja didn't get to his house by 11, he was just going to head over here to the library.
So that's basically what happened. We watched a bunch of episodes of Bleach that pretty much ended the Rukia Rescue saga. Then we saw the Tsubasa Chronicle Movie, which is honestly more like an OVA to me, and midway through that Russell arrived. Then we saw the xxxHolic movie, I'm going to find a way to get a copy of that one, I loved it. After the Detective Conan movie, it was getting late, and we were hoping to make it in time to the August LVO Eat N' Greet, because I was hoping to take Russell there to treat him for a birthday dinner. By then the One Piece movie was showing, but none of us are far enough into the series to really appreciate it, so we headed for the door.
At that time I saw Sonja get up out of her seats. No offense my dear friend, but you looked like you just woke up to say the least. While we waited and rode the bus, I got the gist of what she'd been up to. She was telling me about Hookah, which I'd heard of before, they actually have a few Hookah Lounges in Las Vegas if I'm not mistaken. The bus ride was disastruous, my nose felt like it was on fire from all these bad b.o. smells and the heat wasn't helping at all.
We made it to the restaurant, Togoshi Ramen, along with Erin's help, she spotted us walking there after we'd gotten off the bus and made us jump in to her moving vehicle. Fun, fun. rolleyes
The restaurant was very nice, I enjoyed my food. Sonja just had a chicken salad to try and help her hangover. Russell has some kind of ramen, but I don't think he liked it. I had chicken katsu curry rice, and a bowl of half-ramen, both of them were delicious, I was kind of proud of myself for treating my friends for once, I don't do that often, I'm usually the one that gets what he wants from other people.
Emi showed up too, so Sonja got to finally meet her, and see why we're so damn compatible, everyone jokes we should date, but we both agree they'd find the two of us with knifes in our back dead at the exact same time. But we make a great comedy duo. After our meal we headed to the Boulevard Mall since it was just down the road and we had time to kill. When we headed to the pet shop, I wanted to go somewhere else, I hate going to them unless I'm going to find a companion. Standing there looking at all the rabbits and birds and dogs locked up depresses me so much, I want to do like one of those "animal activists" and just free them all, but that wouldn't help either.
It was funny seeing the rabbits though, there were 4 of them that acted just like me, Josh, Sonja, and Russell. I like how Sonja associated the brown rabbit with me because it was taking care of itself, and how the Sonja rabbit was helping the Josh rabbit, and the Russell rabbit was being a loner, and then suddenly something happened and Emiliano, Sonja, and Russell started chasing each other. We went to get some books and Sonja picked up Hot Gimmick 8 & 9, I have a ton of them to borrow from her, she keeps holding back all the spoilers, I'm relieved she does that.
When we went to Hot Topic, Sonja found this really good looking shirt she wanted to buy, but it would go over $50 spending limit she asked me not to let her go over. The shirt looked really nice and I never did get to see her try it on because I went to buy some cookies from Mrs. Field's, since it was almost closing time and they give you good deals when they have to throw out whatever they don't sell. The shirt was $36, and I couldn't decide for her whether she should buy it or not. I asked Emi, and we both sort of decided it was nice, but not worth that kind of price. She bought it anyway while I was listening to the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack, I must buy that by the way. *mental note*
Went to Barnes and Noble, and Sonja found some more Astrology books that explained your basic personalities depending on your birthdate, so now I understand why I have a designer's eye and like Project Runway so much for the fashiony-ness, I have a keen eye for that and color according to the book. Reading everyone else's stuff was funny too, especially seeing Russell's and looking at all the negative traits that Leo's have.
After that we went to Starbuck's and Emi helped me order the drink she got me hooked on. She got some other drink I might have to try next time too, and then later bought an iced espresso. Me and Sonja sat on the curb drinking our frappucinos and kind of keeping to ourselves talking about why I should go do some Hookah with her. I'd pass on it though, I sort of made a promise to myself to never smoke or purposely inhale any substance if I could help it because of my mom dying of lung cancer, whether it's toxic or not I'd still feel guilty about it. Seeing what smoking did to her always scares me, I don't know, I'd have to think about it for a while before I'd be up for it. In a few months I'll have the legal opportunity to decide.
When we stood by the cars drinking, Emi and I got into one of our usual hissyfits, and I ended up like daring her to throw her iced espresso at me if she was so tough, even calling her a chickenshit even though I was joking. Luck would have it she threw it at me, but I didn't think she would so instead of trying to dodge it or get out of the way, I just swatted the cup to stop it from spilling all over me. I sort of palmed/spiked it and all the ice and drink exploded on the car next to Emi's. Needless to say we hightailed it out of there fast, I hope the people weren't too mad.
We were going to go to the MGM Grand to play DDR and Para Para Paradise, but Emi had to get home because her mom wanted her home for one reason or another. So the rest of us piled into Erin's car and she drove Sonja to my house so Marissa could pick her up. While I was taking off my shoes Sonja freaked me out by heading straight for my room, which is so not fair because I can never do that in her house and I was like, "Nuuu....get back down here my room's a mess!!"
We just sat there talking about Sailor Moon and stuff we wanted to do when Marissa got the house and picked her up. I realized I had missed Project Runway because we'd been out so long, so I caught the midnight showing of it, then went to sleep. I was really sad to see Allison go, I just think this challenge really screwed her over, she should have went with her original plans.
EDIT: I was just on MySpace and the featured profile was for Project Runway. 4laugh
2nd EDIT: My good mood has just been ruined. ******** b***h she is. Goddamn you Autumm, I hate you so much.
