Apparently, I Made Winter Happen
I feel like nothing has gone well for me with magic lately! Well, except for the fact that I defeated Mighty yesterday. It took forever, and it wasn't easy, but my new technique broke through his solid defense just like Mithos said it would. ANYWAY, I'm sick again! The last time I got sick I had trouble controlling my magic. This time was no different.
I was helping Raine with a problem in Iselia. Apparently, a wind storm hit the area and caused massive tree branches from Iselia Forest to blow around. The majority got caught in the river nearby and stopped the flow of water to the town. I figured I could cut the thick branches into small pieces with Air Thrust, but when I tried to cast the spell, Ice Tornado came out instead! It wouldn't have been so bad if the spell hadn't gone completely out of control and covered the town in ice and snow. I've been shoveling snow all day!
I caused a lot of trouble for Iselia again, but thankfully, everyone was forgiving. We were able to make paths through town, but it may take a few days for all the snow and ice to melt. I'm afraid to cast anymore spells right now, so it's all been manual labor. I guess the water problem is solved temporarily with all the snow lying around, but no one here is used to frigid conditions. I went out to get extra firewood for everyone so at least they can keep warm with fires until this passes.
I've been researching the effects of a cold on my magic for a while now, but I can't seem to find the exact reason for the chaos! I've asked Sheena to arrange a meeting with her friends in Meltokio. Hopefully they can help me find some answers with their research lab. My magic is really dangerous right now, but if I could find a way to control it, I could put way more power into my spells!
