Mellie is a doll come to life in a 19th Century World. Not completely bad, but not good either, she roams the empty streets of a western town. Lulu, her good counterpart, accompanies her on all journeys. Without Lulu, there is no Mellie. And Vice Versa.
You see, Mellie is Lulu and Lulu is Mellie. The white if Lulu's fur represents all that is good between the two. While the black cat ears and tail on Mellie represent all that is evil within their once combined selves.
