"Good Morning and Bright Days to the blessed gods...."

"Good Evening and Sacred Nights to the blessed lords..."

"Dearest, Blessed gods of the universe..."

"...may this lifetime be counted as a golden joy. May our families follow your truths, through nurture and care of every creature in the land...."

"...may this night and my deeds be counted as pleasing to you. Grant me success in tending the sacred plants...."

"...who control the winds and weather, and oversee the sky and land alike..."

"...Protect us from the evils of the Yemi...."

"...Spare the land from the feet of the Oihane...."

"....Grant us wisdom to understand...."

"May there ever be.... ...care and balance.... ...for all the realm."

"Thank you for the sun, the spring, and the summer and all the life they offer. Good day, my blessed gods."

"Thank you for the night, the fall, and the winter, and all the harvests of these times. Good night, I shall watch while you rest, my blessed lords."

"Thank you for the peace we've had. Help us through the times to come. I am concerned. What will we do?"

Only the Orim, flying high in the skies, had either the courage, comradery, or belief enough to express his concerns out loud. He circled over the land, and saw all the rituals and preparations of the creatures, as well as the plant life that flourished or failed in new and strange ways. He saw more clearly than they how the sun rose and set in subtly different ways, and how the wind sometimes carried on differently. The Orim, either by age or by wisdom, was also able to hear better than them the whispers of the gods. And the whispers also had changed.

The Oihane mates finished their morning ritual, their next breath turning to conversation about managing their family and tribe. Neither of them mentioned the feeling of things-feeling-different. It was the white elephant between them. But there was always so much to do. There were sentries to check their reports on, if any Yemi had been caught sneaking around. The Yemi, their bush-shaking, and their cruel tricks.... One Oihane shuddered and the other unconsciously mimicked it. Yes. There was work to be done.

The Yemi finished her evening words, and bowed his head a moment of self-reflection. She was stiff with concern, tense and reticent to admit such weak faults even to herself. So today the wind felt a little different. What nonsense to be worried over. She had a land to watch. The Oihane and their inane groups were over-taking the land, and their were precious plants to be gathered and saved. Perhaps there were herbs that could be set about and rituals performed that would....deter....the Oihane from their abnormal growth. There was a land to care for. Who needed to pay attention to the direction of the wind?
