The tail, at four feet and six inches in length from the base of the spine to the tip, is an extension of the spine itself. Julian remains in complete control of the entire length at all times, and uses it as a weapon more often than as a tail. The spade is razor sharp and edged in fine serrations, enabling it to pass through flexible obstacles, such as flesh or fabric, easily and even weaker solid obstacles, such as bone, with little effort. The wider portion of the triangulated tail-tip acts as reverse facing barbs to prevent easy removal when embedded within an object. Additionally, about two inches from the beginning of the spade there are two linear barbs, sharp as tacks, used to latch and gouge for further disruption of embedded tail removal. The entire tail itself is covered in tough leathery type skin with the rough feel of sandpaper, similar to the skin of a shark.
There is nothing that Julian hates more than having his tail pulled; it makes him extremely violent.
