guitar guitar guitar i got a guitar for christmas it is lovely the best thing about guitar is that it hurts your fingers to play at first, which actually feels nice. it feels like progress and hard work.

i saw this game of thrones meme on facebook that said "brace yourselves: the random christmas texts are coming" and it is SO TRUE.
christmas is when people randomly text you merry christmas and you have to reply and sometimes it leads to conversations you'd much rather not have thanks because conversations are exhaustinggg
they are exhausting because i have to think really carefully about each one. i don't get how people just whip out replies without thinking. i might end up seeming rude if i did that. or incoherent.
hanging out with people is exhausting cuz you constantly have to pay attention to what's going on and you have to be ready with a witty reply and that takes a lot of thought.
the weirdest thing is that for some people, being social is second nature. listening and paying attention is the default setting.
my friend is incredibly extroverted. being alone is the most terrifying thing for her. (i can't imagine it at all. i love being alone. a perfect day for me would be spent alone working on whatever i feel like.) but she makes friends with everyone and she is so charming and she is always busy. she knows everybody!
and my other friend is even more introverted than me, i think. well maybe it's not even introversion here. it's just, she doesn't take any risks and she's so set in her ways. i can predict what she will do. when i ask her to come visit me, or go on a trip, or anything, she won't. When I tell her to do things and screw what her parents think, she won't.
it doesn't mean she's scared. she taught me how to be brave. it's just really strange. maybe it's a matter of values and priorities.
people are all so different.
