Gaia Name: LadyNyoko Roleplay Name: Nyoko 'Hawkeye' Moore Gender: Female Age: 27 Character Bio: The sea was in Nyoko's blood, and she'd felt it's call throughout her life. At 15, she ran away from home to answer the call. Having heard stories from her grandfather about his pirating, she stowed away on a variety of ships, intent to make her way towards Tortuga. Due to an odd circumstances of events, she wound up on the Galápagos Islands for a few days, and ended up adopting one of its native Hawks, whom she now calls Squall. But her most notable feat would be the stowaway that landed her in Tortuga. She managed to sneak aboard the Black Pearl, but was (unfortunately) discovered. Through the use of her feminine wiles, she managed to work out a deal with Captain Jack Sparrow, letting her stay aboard until she could disembark at her destination. Over the years, she made a reputation for herself, abandoning her given name for the name Hawkeye. Important Notes: Hawkeye is somewhat of a local legend around the Caribbean, and many rumors surround her life. Probably the most popular rumor is that Squall serves as her eyes, because she is blind. None of these rumors are true, they are just stories that eventually got embellished and ran wild. Also, Hawkeye is generally referred to as a man. Very few pirates know that she is actually a woman. Character Personality: Hawkeye is wild and carefree, and has no qualms with deceiving and killing men. She generally ignores the drunken rambling in the bars she visits for information, but when she is angered she is dangerous. When angry, Hawkeye loses all sense of self, going into a mad rage against whomever or whatever angered her. Occupation: Pirate Crew/Allignment: Hawkeye is only loyal to herself, and has been a member of many crews. She normally only stays with a single crew for a year or two, before going freelance for a while, then joining a new crew. However, she does have a slight infatuation with Jack Sparrow, and wants to make the next crew she joins his. Weapons Used: Four daggers when using deceit to pirate, but otherwise a pair of scimitars she acquired from a Navy ship.
"`Ave you `eard the news?"
"What news?"
"They say `awkeye's back in Tortuga..."
"Who's Hawkeye?"
The two pirates turned to glare at their youngest crewmate. After a long moment, one motioned him closer, all three lowering their voices to a meer whisper.
"You ain't heard'a Hawkeye? You're lucky tha' the Cap'n likes yeh, boy..."
"`Awkeye's one a' the mos' ruthless pirates yeh'll e'er meet. They say `e killed a whole shipful a' Navy soldiers singlehanded."
"I heard that Hawkeye's blind, and that hawk he carries around is `is eyes."
"Really?"
"`Ow would tha' work, ya moron?"
"I dunno! Jus' sayin' what I heard!"
A snort interrupted their conversation.
The oldest member of the crew turned to glare at the person who dared to scoff at them.
"You go' a problem wit' me?"
Sitting at the table next to the three drunken men was what looked liked a relatively young man, a very feminine young man...
"No problem, but I agree with yer mate. A hawk as eyes..."
The pirate snickered, tilting his flask to his lips and taking a swig of its contents.
"An' how would you know, eh? You ever met Hawkeye and asked `im?"
A dark smirk lit up the other's features, and his head lifted. Glittering eyes the color of the ocean analyzed the middle-aged pirate for a long moment, before the andronygous pirate stood from his booth.
"Would you like to take this outside, mate?"
"It'd be my pleasure."
But before the pirates could even leave the bar, the newcomer had dashed forward, lunging a dagger into the old man's side.
The man gagged, his eyes widening. He hadn't expected that to happen in his drunken stupor, and if he'd been in a clearer state of mind, he might've been able to dodge the attack.
His companions stared, backing away from the two with terror. That younger pirate was dangerous, and they weren't about to risk their skins to save an old man. After another moment of staring, the two scrambled for the door, ignoring the circle of drunken men who were cheering and hollering at the sight of the fight.
"That was your warning. Just so you know..."
The young pirate leaned forward, his eyes dark and dangerous.
"I am Hawkeye... And for your information, I'm a woman."
With that bit of information said, the dagger was removed from the old man side. Hawkeye smirked and sauntered out of the circle, barely even glancing up as her companion fluttered down from the rafters to land on her padded shoulder. With one last dark look at the sudden chaos she had caused, she chuckled and left the bar.
