I'm back, bitches!
So, yeah, I think my last post was about my having avoident personality disorder, and the Navy's ******** up phrasing for it. Well, I talked to a real Neurological Psychologist(probably a year ago?), and I do not have avoident personality disorder, I have Social Anxiety disorder. And General Anxiety, with a shitload of ADHD on the side.
So, no, not Schizophrenic(yay!), though apparently the mix of Anxiety and ADHD is bad, because they can conflict with each other(and so do the meds). The ADHD can cause me to hyperfocus on something that is bothering me, and since I cannot resolve it, I maintain the focus until I explode. And by 'explode', I mean break down into a sobbing, hyperventilating mess.
So, I am now taking meds to treat both ADHD and the Anxiety disorder, as well as depression. Which is fun, because the anti-depressants make it difficult to concentrate, and the anti-ADHD meds make me suicidal. Great mix, that.
I am, however, getting ready to go back to school. Engineering was a bad idea, so was Architecture, so I went into Software Development, which was even worse of an idea. I talked to a career counselor, and her two primary recommendations were Radiological Tech, and Laboratory Tech. If I ever get to actually meet some of these techs, I might finally be able to secure a class schedule sometime in the near future.
Also, I came out to my Wife as Polyamorous. Unfortunately, I did it in a way that hit her like a Mac Truck, so she had to take it all in at once, and it stressed her out more than just a little bit. We aren't going to be expanding our relationship any time in the immediate future, but ifwhen the right person comes along...I think we'll be alright.
