Hello y'all and welcome to this edition of Fate Rants! This one is called "Art I wish I'd never Paid for!" or the more likely title "I'm an artist, ******** YOU!" And it is about art that I paid far too much for with incredibly unsatisfying results. Now before you say it, yes, a lot of this is my fault. I ordered from these people after all...but see the individual pieces for reasons why I ordered.

Price: 40k
The reason I paid for it: The samples in the girl's shop were actually quite good...apparently they weren't drawn by her. Or coloured. In fact they were stolen samples. Thus I got a headshot that looked as though it were drawn by a 10 year old...in fact I can do better with my TEETH.
Characters
Price: 300k + tip
Why I paid for it: I actually told my friend I didn't WANT to buy from this shop. The fact was that the shop advertised art that was well proportioned when half of her samples WERE NOT. The artist was indeed very friendly though and I even put a bid in her auction (that I dearly hoped I would not win)
What's wrong with it: Well besides the odd ugly lines on her stomach and the ugly face, nothing. The artwork is decently proportioned and I like the outfit actually...the problem is that the character is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL not disturbingly manly looking. All in all I think this picture could have gone better if she didn't overdo it on the stomach. My friend (whose character this is) would obviously not like this so I don't even remember if I showed it to her.
Price: 500k
Why I paid for it: You would not believe how amazing this person's samples were. I was thrilled to pay that for art from them and even gave them my main character to draw rather than any of the others I needed art for. I still believe that the artist is incredibly talented but obviously they didn't give a s**t about my order and either rushed it or totally mistook the description, up to you.
What's wrong with it: This is indeed a great piece...a very handsome man. The problem is that the character is supposed to be a
delicate looking WOMAN. They made my main character look like a man and I spent half a million gold on it. Of course I didn't say anything to them about how disappointed I was. I really disliked the result of this piece and I would never order from them again. I highly suggest you do not either.
Price:200k? Maybe more? I forgot.
Why I paid for it: The samples of this girl's art (and her DA) were all vibrant and unique. I rather liked the cartoony feel of it and the bright colours.
What's wrong with it: Yet another example of a decent artist who showed no interest in my piece whatsoever. The colours are washed out by resizing and nothing about this piece is like the ones on her DA. I was extremely disappointed because if I had wanted that I could have done it in ten minutes.
Seeing as I pay inordinate amounts of gold for art I will probably be adding to this list...or just give up on commissioning since even good artists seem to fail with my characters.
Price paid: 700k
700k isn't bad for a fullbody piece, especially not of this artist's quality. Her works were dynamically posed and really very lovely.
The problem was that when given a VERY SIMPLE reference and request she did absolutely nothing with it. Simple avis and characters are often the best ones to practice offsetting with dynamic posing or really putting effort into the details and anatomy. Obviously she didn't think of that. If a character or reference is TOO BORING for you, then don't ******** accept the order.
