As I started to come to. I found myself looking at a ceiling fan that was spinning moderately fast.I felt Eevee near me sleeping. I went to get up and go to the bathroom, cause hours on the waiting table can really make you wanna go badily.I got up slowly enough that Eevee did not awaken. I was passing by a near-by mirror but didn't take time to look at it. By the time I was done using the bathroom I came back the other way and looked at myself in the mirror. But what I saw didn't look like me at all, what I saw was a human-like Eevee, pointy ears and a bushy tail behind him with a crest of white hair. Feeling uneasy I fell on the floor in complete body shock. Around me went dark all over again.
When I came to again, I awoke to seeing the ceiling fan again, but this time the fan wasn't spinning at all. When I got up a little, I saw that Eevee was awake now and came up to me to see if I was all right. But I couldn't help but shake about what I saw before was just an illusion. So I took my hands and looked at them, they were covered in fur. I felt around for my ears, but they were not on the side of my head anymore, I slowly went up my head to see that my ears were now much longer and the back of my ears were furry. Slightly panicking I felt around what I thought was a tail, and there was in fact a tail. A big furry fluffy tail. Feeling around my chest area, it was now covered with more fur than the rest of my body. I had in fact turned into a half-human, half-pokemon thing. I naturally freaked out a little, but not to the point where I would fall unconscious again. After a few minutes of convincing my body that it is what it is. I calmed down a little just around when Nurse Joy walked in.
"Oh, good!" She said running over to my bed. "You've woken up and didn't go under body shock this time!" I jumped when she ran to my bed. "W-W-What happened to me?!" I said freaking out. "Calm down, I know what happened. If you panic up now you may fall under body shock again!" I tried to calm myself down "Okay, now how did this happen to me?" "Well..." She started walking over to a whiteboard. "When you came in you had already lost alot of blood." She started drawing swirly lines."Naturally, your DNA strands split when you try to produce more blood"
She then turned to Eevee. "Your Eevee there saved your life. If you hadn't taken Eevee's blood you would have eventually died. For we lacked blood bags of your type. We used them in a major surgery 2 days ago." She said with a frown. "Anyway, when we interjected Eevee's blood into you, your DNA was completed with the other half of Eevee's DNA." "Wait..." I said interrupting. "Does...does this mean that I can use Eevee's power?" She turned with a disgruntled look. "I..I don't know...sorry..." She said with a frown. "Oh okay" I said "Anyway, when the DNA strands connected you had rapidly changed. I tried to stop the change, but I couldn't stop it. Though you had only half changed. You carry some human like, characteristics. Such as being able to stand on two legs and being able to talk and hands and have the same motor functions as a normal human being if not more" She explained. "Though the rest of you changed, such as your fur, ears, eyes, nose, and your tail."
"Mhm" I said taking it all in. "So what your saying is, Im stuck with what I have?" "Ya" She said saddened. "I'm sorry for not being able to see this in advance..." "It's okay" I said getting up. "By the way, I couldn't find any identification on you when I tried to phone your relatives" "Relatives?" I said turning to look at Nurse Joy, "I never had anyone but myself looking for me. But I do look out for other pokemon. Some even consider me their guardian. I lived a life of moving from place to place looking for a way to earn my next meal. Which reminds me..." I said walking toward Nurse Joy. "Im a little short on cash for this operation. Can I work for you a while till I can pay off this debt?" Nurse Joy kinda was sadden by the story and when she heard the offer she simply said, "It's ok, don't worry about it..." Even after I insisted I help out she still stuck to her "It's quite alright, I don't need any help. It was my pleasure to help you." I nodded and started to head out the door when she yelled out "Wait! I need to get you a few things before you head out, also I may have an answer to your money problems!" Naturally I turned to see what it was.
"About your money problems, why not participate in the Gym Leader battles? I hear that winners always get a good amount of money." Stunned a little, I looked down at my Eevee who looked at me with a smile and nodded. Then I looked back at Nurse Joy and said, "Sure, why not? I've got nothing to lose...accept maybe my new friend for life" I looked down at my Eevee and smiled Eevee lept up into my arms. "Well okay" She said smiling. "You'll need these then..." She handed me a pokeball to put Eevee in. Then she then handed me my bag that Aipom gave back after rescuing me from bleeding to death. "You'll find everything you need inside it. Also I would suggest heading to Pallet Town and speaking to Professor Oak. He's a researcher you know." "Wait I said, I don't think I wanna go walking around looking like this!"
"Oh, here take this cloak, it was left here long ago, don't know who it belonged to..." I took the cloak and put it around me. It fit me, and covered my face pretty well. All that could be seen was the bottom portion of my face. "Im gonna call ahead and tell him your coming. Here take this pin so that he knows your okay. Ill tell him to set you up with some ID." Nurse Joy put the pin that was shaped like a pokeball on my upper part of my cloak. "Ill tell him you can't reveal your true face for medical reasons.
