he sits in the shadows,
wondering if there is anything left to live for.
he knows what he has done,
and he knows what it means.
to him,
but more importantly to Her
everything he has worked so hard to build,
shattered,
broken,
destroyed.
he tries to pick up the pieces,
but they turn to dust in his hands.
he tries to put it all back together,
but he knows there is no chance.
he looks in the mirror,
nothing but darkness looks back.
he looks away,
disgusted with himself.
hating himself for what he has done.
there is nothing he can do.
he stands,
and sulks along the corridor.
looking back on Her,
sleeping so peacefully.
Her lips curled into a gentle smile.
he knows She is clueless as to what has happened.
at the sight of her beauty,
Her glow,
Her unending trust.
he cries.
he falls back into the shadow,
sliding the gateway between Her light and his darkness closed,
and cries.
cursing himself for ever thinking about it.
cursing himself for beiing alive.
cursing himself for what he has done to Her.
He cries afraid of what this means,
afraid of what he has done,
afriad of what has happened.
he hates himself for everything,
there is not a reason in the world to excuse his actions.
he hopes he can get away,
he hopes his crying has not disturbed Her slumber
he looks around this chamber he has retired himself to.
his shirt,
sits folded so lovingly.
he remembers the charm around Her neck,
worn every day,
a sign of Her dedication to him.
the ring,
She wears,
third finger,
day and night.
its counterpart,
on his pinky.
Her gift to him,
a sign of dedication.
everything he means to Her,
everything She means to him.
and in one moment he cast it all aside.
the tears roll down his cheeks,
the sobs come in choking bursts.
if only there was a way to take it all back.
he would sell his soul,
just to take back that one moment.
he sighs in releif as the darkness overtakes him,
hoping it will be his last,
breath,
night,
his last moments alive.
before he drifts into a world he has yet to know,
he wispers gently to the walls around him.
"i DO love you. more than anything in this world. please dont hate me forever"
