Scene from writer's circle thing
Brayden walked into her house, scared because she knew only she and her foster-father were home. She would have been out somewhere with Damian, but he had a date, and his family was busy. She didn't have work, but for the first time wished she did.

No one was in the living room when she walked past it, so she sat down and watched tv, figuring her dad had gone to bed. She could tell by the amount of bottles laying around that he'd been drinking.

A few minuted later, Brayden was startled out of staring at the tv by her dad stumbling into the room.

"Brayden, come here." He demanded.

Brayden knew what would be coming, because he'd said the same thing the first time, only then she'd been stupid enough to listen to him. "No, leave me alone."

He growled, and stood between Brayden and the tv. "I am your father, don't disrespect me!"

Brayden stood up in defiance and sneered, "You're not my father! You're an idotic male who thought he wanted children, but couldn't have any, and you took pity on kids without parents! How do you know we even wanted parents?"

"You should be thankful we feed you and shelter you," He yelled. "You ungrateful little skank!" He grabbed her arms and threw her up against the wall. She hit is with a loud thud, fell forward and hit her head on the coffee table. Immediately she had splitting headache and a bleeding head.

In his anger, Bray's dad forgot what he had wanted Brayden for, and stormed to his room.

Brayden was too proud to cry. She would not give anyone the satisfaction of seeing that she was scared. Her eyes narrowed in anger, to keep the tears from coming, and she ran out the door.

She knew how dangerous it was to be out on the streets after nine, but she had no other way to get anywhere. Bray didn't care. Instead she ran as fast and hard as she could to Damian's house.

Once there she found the hidden spare key, and let herself in. She sat on the couch in the empty house and waited until someone came home.

The first people home were Damian's mom and sister, who were very surprised to see her there, with a big cut on her head. Her excuse was that she'd had nothing to do, and had gotten into a fight in the way there.

They didn't fully believe her, but took her story for truth for now.
