Riku. Good looking, wealthy, and closed off from the rest of the world. At least that was how the other students saw him. It was halfway through the school year and he was one of the few students who was never seen with friends, it was wondered if he actually had any. He was quiet in class, but smart nontheless, and during lunch when others got together in the courtyard he was distance himself by finding less occupied places to rest.
He was new to Osaki High this year. Though this was his hometown, he had moved when he was 10 to accomidate his father's work. Now, a 17 year old Junior, he had returned on his own. His first day his name was on everyones' lips, if for no other reason then his looks. A silken mane of platinum hair, fair skin that was virtually flawless, and eyes like inset saphires. Dressed in only the best and arriving not by common bus, but in a black Jaguar sports car of his own. Instantly talk of his good looks and wealth spread among the studends, and many tried to become his friend. By the second day it had gotten around to who he was; Riku Matsuri, son of a powerful business man and millionaire. The students were even more enthusiastic about trying to become buddies with him at this. After a while though they realized their attempts were useless. Riku was a very closed off boy, often prefering the quiet solitude he had grown so used to throughout his life, than the attention of those who only wanted him for looks or money.
He had had only two true friends in his lifetime that he really cared for. The first was a younger boy he knew here before moving away. They had been so close it was rare to see them apart. The second was a girl who he had known, but she left the town before he did. Neither of which he had seen since. While he had known others, he was never really as close to any of them.
Today it was cold. It was only the start of autumn, but temperatures had dropped drastically. When the lunch bells rang the silver haired teen walked out to the rose garden in the middle of four buildings that housed classes for the sophmores and juniors when everyone else went to the indoor lunch area. He had found that even in good weather very few ventured to the garden for some reason or another so he had come to find it relaxing to lay in the shadows of the tall, climbing flowers. There he rested with his hands in the pockets of his black slacks, long sleeved dark blue shirt beneath a black jacket sheltering him from the cold somewhat.
