Do you believe in Fate?

A friend of mine and I decided on a whim that we'd go out of town to go to a pub for 80's night. We had fun on the way there singing along to 80's songs in the car, and watching the people line up to get into clubs. It took us a while to find the place we were looking for, and when we saw it, we weren't really impressed. It just looked like a pool hall. No one was dressed up (we went all out, bandannas and bangles and all!), and we just decided to walk around for a while instead.
We saw nightclub laser shows, policemen on horses, Asain couples giggling (I always feel all happy inside when I see that), the rickshaw boys with their bicyles pulling carts for tips, and a couple cute punky girls I wanted to compliment but knew they'd tell me to piss off.
As we were walking, we passed a rickshaw boy fixing his bike chain. We felt bad for him, but figured he had it going and didn't need our help. We walked a while longer, and then turned around to head back to our car.
On the way, we passed the rickshaw boy again, still struggling with his chain. My friend and I kinda slowed down after we passed them. We asked each other back and forth if we should help him, and finally headed back to him.
"Hi... Did you need help?" I asked him.
He looked up, with his thick black-rimmed spectacles and messy short black hair, and said softly, "Um... Actually... yes..."
I got to my knees beside the bike, thinking how he sounded just like Satoshi. My friend held one end of the bike chain while I held one wheel still and held up a flashlight.
THe long-limbed boy with the soft polite voice proceeded to explain his misfortune. He wasn't whining, he was just explaining how he ended up stuck there. After a while of unsuccesful maneuvers, he apologized to us, saying, "I don't want to waste any more of your time..."
I looked at my friend, and we assured him we were just walking around anyway. We weren't in a hurry. I mouthed to my friend "Sa-to-shi" and they nodded, agreeing with me! Well, this made me even happier.
Then a cop came and shined his lights on us trying to help, but then he just kept asking if we were almost done and how much longer, etc. Then he insisted we move the bike and cart off the road. Finally, he left. Jerk. >_<
Anyway, we moved it and got as comfortable as we could in a parking lot. All three of us were holding a part of the bike, quietly thinking things to ourselves. My friend and I were pretty happy, but we wondered what our Hiwatari-voiced boy was thinking.
Every once in a while he would sigh quietly and say things like, "This is becoming increasingly frustrating" and "Thank you so much for your help."
After watching him lay on the ground a while trying to fix the chain, my friend took over and they had a sort of system going with the winding. I wish I could do more to help than hold the wheel and gearwheel taut. He had a nice body, I realized. And all that pedalling had given him strong calves.
Finally, I heard him hiss, "Yes!"
It was so sexy hearing him say it. I wanted to ask Satoshi to say it again. They wound it faster, and before I knew it, the chain was back in place.
I had just bought some pressurized saltwater from the tattoo shop before we met up with him, so afterward I was able to spray off my hands and wipe them on my pants. My friend had brought one of those travel-size anti-bacterial gel things, and used that. I thought that was kinda funny.
Satoshi-boy asked us if he could give us a ride somewhere.
"To our car," My friend smiled.
So we got to watch his shifting backside and muscular calves pedal away as we headed to our car. When we got to it, I pulled out a twenty. He thanked us, and I held up the money. He refused, looking like he wished he could do more to thank us. I put it in his hand. "Yeah, take it. You probably lost a lot of money not being able to ride for so long." So he took it, and looked even mor like he wanted to do or say something. My friend seemed ready to go, but I looked back at the boy. I couldn't get over that look on his face. Finally he asked, quietly, "Do you guys like music?"
I smiled. "Of course!"
He went on to tell us he was in a band and he wanted us to go see him play. We want to, but we didn't live there, so we'd have to plan it out. He asked for our e-mail addresses. I didn't have a pen, but my friend did, so they wrote our e-mail addresses down and gave it to him. He seemed happy with being able to invite us to one of his shows.
I can't wait to see what he writes back to my friend.
All the way home, we talked about it and called him Satoshi, since we didn't get his name. After I was home, I kept thinking about it.
How long would he have been there if we hadn't come? Would anyone have helped him? How interesting that we just happened to go there and end up just killing time, and then come across his path. I like to think we were sent there to help him. I felt so good afterward. Helping him was much more exciting and rewarding than dancing at a pub!

I still feel like I just met you even though we already seem to be good friends..^^
Your such a nice guy, and you sound like you have a small crush on this Satoshi-look alike..
I hope you end up seeing him again..^.^ This small story made my stomach do back flips..And its so strange how we can compare different anime/manga characters to people in real life..And its also cool how your friends like D.N. Angel as well..
Ive gotten a good portion of my friends into anime/manga..most of its shounen-ai stuff though..couldnt live without that.. mrgreen

Thanks, Sin! (Even though I don't know what ciik means whee )
I have noticed you have been really good about replying to my journal entries! Thanks! You're not pathetic; you're nice!

Ryokoandryou, I like it that way! Thank you for your kind words.
I did; he was cute! I don't know if I really will get to see him again. Plus, he seemed to like my friend better. 3nodding I'm pretty shy irl.
I'm happy you enjoyed reading my tale! It was really exciting when it happened. It's not so strange to compare characters to real people. You should have heard his voice! biggrin
Yes; I got my friend into D.N. Angel, but one of my other friends got me into it! It's contagious. whee I most love mangas/animes with attractive characters, lots of humor, and suspenseful romance. Perhaps unrequited love is best for stories, so you are driven to keep reading.

Heheh, so was his voice like the dub version of Sato? Or did it sound similar to his Japanese version voice?
Either way, I wish you the best of luck!
Hmm..something Ive been meaning to ask..;;
When you read our RP do you imagine the characters saying this or that in their english dub voices? Or in their Japanese voices?
For some reason I can only hear Dai's dub voice in my head when I read your replies..Thats not a bad thing though...because most of the time I like dubs.. 3nodding
And you seemed sort of surprised when you found out my age..I hope I didnt freak you out too much.. sweatdrop

ryokoandryou: I guess it was like the English dub. I don't know; both of Satoshi's voices are similar to me.
Thank you! smile
I hear the English voices in my head. I guess because we're using English. whee I usually prefer the Japanese seiyuu, but I do like the dub of D.N. Angel a lot. 3nodding
Nope! You're very impressive! biggrin
