After 3 years of waiting, it's finally here. And I'm loving it. I played from cell all the way to space already, but those early stages are mainly to help setup the personality and history of the race. A prelude, basically. My first race are peaceful religious explorers. Unfortunately, most of the screenshots I took were during scripted animations, and they don't seem to properly be saved (unlike Sims 2), so I don't have a lot yet. I'll be taking more over the next few days to actually show off my race. smile

I expected I'd love just exploring planets, but I find my true love is terraforming. Some planets are easy to terraform, others can get really expensive and tricky. Trying to terraform, for example, a lava-ball with too much atmospheric pressure into a livable colony is extremely difficult... but extremely fun, too. Especially when that world has extremely valuable resources, which leads to my other love...

Trading. In Spore, the main natural resource is Spice, ala Dune. However, it comes in the form of geysers on planet surfaces, and there's a number of different colours available. Red seems to be the most common and not very valuable, but pink and purple spice are extremely rare and, when you can find a colony that wants it, extremely valuable. Prices and demand fluctuate, of course, which means a constant hunt to find the best sales.

Combat I don't like so much. I'm just buying up the biggest weapons I can get when they unlock, so if I should ever get in a war I'll be able to get rid of the enemy quickly.
