I look forward to Fridays on Gaia for a very simple reason: Evolving Item Reports. They're like a mini story update every week! But this Friday held more for me: my favorite item, Inari's Beads, was evolving again. Now, I've bee branching out in my avi designs lately, so this week finds me with no Beads equipped. No big deal to me. After reading the report, I decided to check out the Beads and say farewell to my new love, the masks.
Come to find out, I have no beads on my account. I know I would have remembered loaning them out, and I would never never never never nevernevernevernevernever sell them. So I looked through my trade history to see if maybe my I gave it to my cousins by mistake. And see a trade to peach33. I've never seen this account before, let alone traded with it. The trade was at 9:44 am, when I was asleep. So I immediately started screen capturing everything to do with this person and the trade, and investigated their profile.
I pmed the account and demanded my beads back (yes, I had already reported the incident by now). He/she pmed back, trying to give me a Coco plush to stay quite. 1)if you have a Coco, you can afford an Inari's Beads. 2)if you steal from someone, why should I let you get away with anything, or take your ill gotten gains? I said no and demanded my item back. A trade came through with the beads, but also with 20k in what I assume was hush money. I pmed again saying no, just the Beads please (remember, taking gold or items from scammers and hackers can get you in trouble too).
On a happy note, I got my Beads back right after that. I re-reported the account, mentioning the original report and adding how I was offered a bribe. Hopefully, nothing like this happens to y'all. Stay safe with all of these ninja s out and about.
