The vanished memory that I can't remember is driving me mad again "Unforgettable" that vanished word revives itself {"Who are you..." }
Plip... plip... plip... The sound of water drops echoed through Reila's ears, her world darkened by some veil, some object, something blocking out the light. She knew she had opened them. Or did she? Either way, the darkness had begun to settle on her, in her, over her and she felt cold. Not the kind of cold one felt when walking on a brisk Winter's day. The kind of cold that made you realize you were probably alone, and [if you were injured] ultimately screwed. Yes, this icy feeling sent shivers down Reila's spine as she felt around in the darkness. Her eyes still adjusting to the depth of the shadows under whatever fixture she was burried. She blinked, there was light. She blinked again, there was not. She fluttered them, desperately trying to adjust to the light, or lack there of. Suddenly her eyes stung and flooded with tears. Yep, they were open. The dry dust floating in the air attatched itself to her dam skin, clothing, and hair; getting in her eyes, breathing it in her lungs and coughing it back out in violent spurts. She felt the need to move, to get up and out of where ever she was at the moment. She had not heard anything other than the drop of water echoing somewhere in this dark space. She began moving various parts of her body, checking for injury. Immediately her muscles protested the movement as she hissed in pain, the dusty air finding its way into the cuts and scratches on her pale porcelain skin. She grit her teeth and squeezed a solitary salty tear from her gray blue eyes trailing a stinging path on a particularly nasty looking gash on her cheek. Another cry erupted from her pale pink lips. She had to get it out of here.
Everything seemed to hit her at once. Louladeux had been destroyed. The headmaster and his goons had some kind of plot to destroy Nurodania, the kids were getting in the way. So what she had to do now was figure out where the others are. Oh Gods! Where was Rayne?! Was he okay? Was he hurt? What happened? Did someone find him? She groaned and moved to stand when a sharp pain shot up her leg from her ankle. ****ing great...just what she needed right now. Reila blinked her eyes in the dark, adjusting them to the obscured setting and finally saw a few beams of light a few yards off. She must have been under some of the rubble and debris left over from the school. There were pips and valves sticking out of the crumbled stone of the freshly demolished school, dripping: Plip...plip...plip...
The pain in Reila's ankle returned as soon as her attention turn back to moving towards the light above the wreckage. She looked down at her painful restraint, a slab of rock trapping her ankle to a sewer pipe. Oh, how graceful. Now she could look and smell like a caged animal. She rolled her eyes and slumped forward against the dingy, damp ground, her robes smelling horrible already. Taking a deep breath, Reila closed her eyes and counted to ten. It was going to take every ounce of strength she had not to get frustrated and panic. She was way to injured and exhausted to try and move the slab herself. Hell, she'd be lucky if she could even conjure enough water for an eight ounce glass, let alone a surge powerful enough to move the heavy rock against her ankle. She sighed. I guess I have to resort to the damsel in distress act. Wonderful, she thought rolling her eyes.
Drawing a deep breath, she cried out, "Hello? Hello!" The echo came back to her, but she wouldn't let that dampen her already soaking wet spirits.
"Somone! Anyone, please help! I'm stuck under a stupid big rock and it kind of hurts! Oh, who am I kidding? It really freaking hurts! Help!" She squinted her eyes at the strain she put on her already burning, dusty lungs. She began thinking of her brother, hoping he was okay. She thought of all the times she messed with him and got away with it, and then all the times she messed with him and didn't get away with it, but still kept messing with him. She began to miss his goofy smile, and his half-hearted statements of revenge...okay well except for that one time when he replaced her shampoo with bright red hair potion. Okay, so maybe she deserved it for filling the floor of his room with mud, but still. She began to feel terrible.
Hoping he could hear her, she began to call out, tears welling in her eyes, "Rayne! Rayne, are you out there? Get me out of here, little brother! I'm sorry for calling you stupid, and for breaking your toy boat then blaming it on the dog. I'm sorry for the times I dumped water on you while you were sleeping and made you get neumonia because you breathed it all in."
