Authors Note: It's just a dribble that I entered in a guild thing to show my writing skills, but I really like how it turned out. I'm already working on the first official chapter which will take place four years later. I strive off of feedback, so tell me what you think ^^
Warning: Later chapters may contain male/male relationships. The entirety will contain blood, gore, violence and language.

Rebirth:Tale of a Vampire
Prologue: A Vampire's Flight
Terrified amber eyes scanned the stone alleyway floor, their expression completely incomprehensible. This was the beginning of madness, the start of fear, and the borderline of insanity, and his once-carefree eyes shone in absolute pity, regret and horror. What had he just done? Was this really his fault? His movements, his actions had seemed so unreal to him, it was as if he was in a dream, not even his own, but someone else’s. Watching himself come up behind the old man, he wanted to shout, scream, warn him of his upcoming doom, but at the same time...-Oh the blood!! He had completely lost control, sinking his razor-sharp fangs into the elderly man neck. He could still feel his teeth breaking through the vein, feeling, tasting, and seeing the irresistible crimson liquid as it poured into his eager mouth. And, even now, as his nimble tongue flicked itself across his moist, pale lips, and he tasted the blood, feeling as he did, regretting it so badly, he couldn't help but recall the initial rush of excitement. He had wanted it; so much loved it so much. It was addicting, like sex, like drugs, even more so. He couldn't stand it, couldn't stand himself. He was a murderer-and he wanted more!!!
As he hung his head, the fact dawned TRULY on the young vampire-he was a killer! A murderer, a sinner, he was going to hell...if he ever died. Raven-black hair covered his face as the same warm blood that he had just consumed moments, seconds ago leaked through his eyes and down his face, in the form of tears. His life was over, at an end, never again would he be able to speak to any of his friends, he realized in absolute sorrow, never again would he be able to face his mother-not after what he had done. He was going to cause her so much pain. She was a kind enough woman, granted they got into scuffles, but he loved her, and never did he doubt that she loved him. How he was going to hurt her...no matter what he did.
But, he had to run; he had to get away. Nothing would be the same anymore, and he couldn't pretend that they would, living in an illusion like he had been ever since he had become what he so unwillingly was. Illusions would cause the downfall of everyone he loved, and so...he had to flee. Turning his back on the man, he ran down the length of the dark alleyway, reaching the lights of the bright city in no time at all. It was as if everyone knew what had happened, what he had done, or was he merely imagining those accusatory glares and sneers? Probably. At a run, he continued, truly fleeing, and not turning back, if he did, he might change his mind, and he couldn't allow that.
The crowd was a blur, each face blurring to another, and another and another, he noticed not whether they were male or female anymore, just that they were human. They were human, and blood rushed through their veins like blood rushed through his, the difference was, his blood was tainted, stolen, not his own. His blood was cursed.
He was running for what felt like forever, before he reached the end of the city, the place where he had grown up and lived his entire life. By stepping over the border of the city, he felt as if he was pulling, ripping his heart out of his chest, and it physically hurt, more than anything and everything he'd ever experienced. This was his home, a part of who he was, and he was giving it up, giving everything up. With a deep breath, he shook his head. No more whining. He needed to become someone new, begin a new life, and that's just what he was going to do.
