It's also good to see how much my style has improved over time... so I'll be sure to update this every month. 3nodding
March, 2009
My first experiments at animating. ;p I used Photoshop 7 to make each individual frame, then transferred the project to Image Ready where each frame was made into an animation. Most of my animations used only ten frames max, but Spirited Away finished with more than thirty. The funny thing is that I can't animate anymore; I lost "the touch". ;p
April, 2009
Moving on from animating, I started to get into Photo Manipulation. After reading one really useful tutorial, I fell in love with manipulating eye colors and stuff. ;p I started off just changing eye colors, but now, I know how to change eye colors and add a kind of make-up touch to pictures. Pretty cool, huh? (x&
I also jumped onto the Caramel Dansen bandwagon... and did two animations with the dance. (x My popular pick-up collection was created as well, which started with the Bleach series. Last time I checked, the one with the boys has about 7000 views and 240 faves while the one with the girls has about 11,000 views and 150 faves. Pretty good, huh? xD
May, 2009
Yepp, not much art submitted here... but one of my first character designs for one of my comic book characters is created! ;D Hoping to boost the view count for my gallery, I also started to make more fanart... which gave birth to the third submission for the pick-up collection. This time, I used one of my favourite video game characters from a game called Tales of Symphonia. heart I also stopped using thicker brushes for drawing the eyes. As well, I started using darker colors for shading instead of using the burn / dodge tools like a lazy bumm. Looks muchh better, no? cool
June, 2009
Well, more submissions... (x& I guess that this is where I started to experiment more with my own art... I tried using a much darker color to shade in the second picture, and tried to add "sparkly blush"? (x& In the last picture, I blurred the characters, which didn't turn out that well... but at least I know better now, right? ;p I also hit 1000 page views in this month. cool
July, 2009
Uhmm... I think this is where I started to experiment more with the gradient tool. sweatdrop The second picture was also my first attempt at doing an art trade, which was with one of my Gaia friends, memphiskite. Yepp... really, nothing much else to say. ;p
August, 2009
This is the time where my method for making lineart changed. Instead of tracing my work like a nub, I learned how to use the pen tool, and voila; huge improvement! I also started making a few fluff pictures which I still adore to this day... heart Teehee... the couple doesn't symbolize anybody to me anymore so... (: I also started making better backgrounds. (x&
September, 2009
This is where I learned how to make make-up in my photo manipulation. ;p Other than that, my style didn't really change... kinda noticed that I used the snowflake kinda effect in a lot of my pictures. ;p Also, during this month, all my drawings were purely OCs. 3nodding I also hit 2000 page views.
October, 2009
Anddd another bombardment of OC pictures. All of these characters (except for the first picture) are from a series that I was planning on creating called Shihai Unmei. I've been too lazy to start a new comic, so all I did was draw pictures of the characters... sweatdrop My backgrounds started to get fancier (? ;p ) and I learned how to create fire. cool I also hit 3000 and 4000 views in this month. (:
November, 2009
Yupp... only four submissions this month. The first picture was my first attempt at doing a comic in Photoshop, anddd... I'd say that I failed pretty badly. xD In the last picture, I tried using only black, white, and purple to give it that kind of... old style look? (x& I also hit 5000 views this month.
December, 2009
Eheh... a sudden bombardment of even more OC (plus one fanart!) pics. sweatdrop I've experimented a few things... like how to create snow and a starry sky, or overlaying fill layers with a soft light to try to change the color of the entire picture. They came out pretty good. (: My Christmas picture was also featured in a collection or something... and I hit 6000 views. 4laugh
January, 2010
Yeah... only two this month. (x& Why? 'Cause I came back onto Gaia. ;p I started to roleplay more, so I dropped my art for a bit... I only drew pictures of my RP characters, which I didn't bother to make into lineart and color. ;p I tried using softer lines for the second picture... but it was a b*tch to color. I kept coloring outside of the lines, so I had to keep erasing and re-doing it. gonk The second picture was also a request from one of my Gaia friends... and I also hit 7000 views. cool
February, 2010
Just a few more OC pictures. ;p The second picture's some avi art I tried to do for myself. (x Picture three... if you were to turn it upside down and erase her arm, it wouldn't look that bad. xD Yeahh... random thought... the last picture was another experiment of mine. It's kinda... dark 'cause I wanted to try to draw something in the horror genre? It's just cartoon blood; no cut-off limbs or rotting zombies or anything, so relax. (x My Valentine's Day picture was also featured in some random V-Day collection... (x
