I became Queen when my uncle passed away, leaving only two heirs--my younger sister and myself. The rest of my relatives are in their own far-off countries, caring little to come back and claim this small throne. I haven't even talked to my mother in ages.

But this small throne is all I have, and I must fight for it.

Of course, when I first assumed the throne, I knew that I must marry. I could not run the kingdom alone. So I began taking suitors in much more earnest than I had before, as a woman with few holdings and a seldom-thought-about heir.

Suddenly, however, I transformed from this moderately desirable heir to a young queen absolutely swamped with courtiers seeking her hand in marriage. Most of them were out of the question--though at first I was flattered by the sudden attention, I soon learned to quickly reject any lowly upstarts hoping to make a sudden, dramatic rise in power.

However, there were a few who stood out from the endless flood. For the sake of reminiscence, I think I shall elaborate on a few.
