We have a serious problem in our drumline, there is atleast one person that HAS to pick up the phone. So we've implimented a rule that if you're going to pick up the phone, it better be Jesus or someone better be dying! :]

Couldn't you just make everyone turn off their cell phones during practice?

well.......our PIT section is lazy......so we normally chat ..........alot......and if our cell rings during that "break" we have....then we can pick it up! if it rings while we are playing......we run laps

yeah, idiots had cells ringing during our last concert of the year last year.

At least our drummers are smart enough to leave it on vibrate. It's usually a text, so they sit behind the bass drum and text away.

Our rule is cell phones off and away during practice, but I've told my guard girls that as long as it's on silent/vibrate and you're not using it, it can be on. I just hate when people use the phone on the bus, because they have to shout so the other person can hear them, and they're shouting to nobody. Two years ago we had a girl with a nextel phone, and that got obnoxious real quick. I had to hear that thing chirp constantly. It was the most annoying thing ever.

We dont usually have problems with cell phones, but one time our capitan ditched practice to celebrate her one month aniversary with her boyfriend and to screw him. That sucked.

on my line, you have to turn off your phone, and if it even goes off, snuffy (its a nickname) will answer it for you.
Snuffy is a really big mexican guy who can do a REALLY good gay voice. xd

Haha, I know what you mean.

We usually practice and aren't that bad. But when we're out on the field, and the Winds are working their drills, we've got nothing better to do. Last year our drum major let us call people on the field to see if their cell phones were on. It was great seeing people with "Vibrate" on. ;D
