So I'm like... Uber uber pissed X-x;
First off, in case nobody knew, I play Diablo 2. I am a devoted player, and I don't like WoW. I play with my boyfriend, Matt, and his best friend, Jon, whom I have been considering an okay friend, maybe even a good friend, recently.
But strange things have been happening : And I know I shouldn't get pissed but he's been taking stuff off my characters, and he's been stealing stuff from Matt, too. Apparantly Matt still considers him a friend after all this, but says I shouldn't trust him with anything private or passworded...
But last night I let him play on my computer, and I wake up.. and I have the SHITTIEST internet reception ever! THEN I couldn't find my signal enhancer.. only to find that.. Jon took half of it crying
He took half the signal enhancer, directly connected it to my computer, and took the other half, without telling me. I called him this morning, pissed off and fired up, and he said he'd bring it back.
Now Matt is seriously questioning all of this as I am. There is no proof that Jon took my stuff on D2, but he and Matt were the only ones who knew my password before I changed it, and the only way Jon found it out was 'cuz he snooped through my notebook and found the password written down. Yeah, foolish of me but I didn't think he'd SNOOP!
And Matt wouldn't take stuff from me, at all!
But at least I now have proof that he is in fact taking stuff from me, even if it isn't pixelated data :
What should I do? I'm gonna confront him about everything tonight, and if he doesn't fess up, then what? There isn't anything else I can do after that. Matt says I shouldn't stop being his friend.. but I feel that I should ._.;
I feel that someone who feels they can take advantage of my kindness to the point they think they can get away with stealing.. They shouldn't be my friend. At all.
Someone help? What do you guys think?
Discuss:
--What I should do if he doesn't admit to everything he's taken.
--Should he be my friend still?
--What else should I not trust him with? My computer now, too? :

That sucks! D: I'd think it was him, too. I suggest changing your passwords and not letting him near your computer, and tell him to give your signal enhancers and such back on the double or you'll report him for theft. >.> That should get his arse in gear, with any luck.
Though isn't it pretty hard to get into two Diablo II accounts at the same time? Do you guys have multiple battlenet connections set up at your house that he could use? Since he'd have to be on two seperate ones at the same time to trade, if I remember right.

Don't be his friend anymore.
He's a theif. I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who would steal my stuff.

--What I should do if he doesn't admit to everything he's taken. I would be really pissed if he doesn't admit anything. I would go over to his house and probably steal something precious of his.
--Should he be my friend still? He shouldn't be you're friend still. He's a theif and I wouldn't like theif's in my life. Since he'll probably strike again. You may never know. --What else should I not trust him with? My computer now, too? : You shouldn't trust him even in you're home! He'll probably steal other things that are important to you. Beware he'll probably steal the un-noticeable.. probably even things you wouldn't think he'll steal. But yea be careful.

Yeah everyone connects to my internet connection when they're over, but we use separate computers to hop onto d2 at the same time. @Peep: Ya know ironically this isn't the first time this has happened x-x; I stopped being friends with the girl who was doing this years ago but I didn't think my kindness would be taken advantage of once again T^T @Grin: It's hard to not be his friend, since he's one of my boyfriend's good friends. I am gonna confront him tonight.. And explain to him everything, and demand he admits and gives my stuff back. I have no ******** idea how he thinks he has this high and mighty power and thinks he has a right to just take whatever he pleases without explanation or any kind of collateral or compensation. x_x;

Yeah, there is too much you can do about it legally. You could report the theft of your enhancers, but it's really just his word against yours there.
However, aren't there mods or something watching people in these online games? Can you report him? The thing with computers is that you can't ever really erase the things you've done or looked at or whatever. Maybe there could be a way to get your stuff back...

Asashina @Grin: It's hard to not be his friend, since he's one of my boyfriend's good friends. I am gonna confront him tonight.. I have no ******** idea how he thinks he has this high and mighty power and thinks he has a right to just take whatever he pleases without explanation or any kind of collateral or compensation. x_x; That one I can solve. Tell your boyfriend if he wants to continue hanging with this kid, you're not gonna be hanging with him. If your boyfriend wants to go somewhere and that kid shows up, go home. Be firm. You know, hanging out with a person like that is damaging to your reputation. This may seem trivial now, but when you get older and this kid starts stealing things from other places/people, just the fact that you are THERE makes you an accessory to the crime. These things have a tendency to escalate. And I can tell you right now, it can only get worse. It's gonna be tough, but you don't need that s**t. Don't put up with it.

I play a lot of D2 as well :3
Anyway, just don't have anything to do with Jon. Change all your passwords to something you'll remember. Don't tell anyone, not even Matt, because you know he'll give in and tell Jon what it is, seeing as Matt trusts him so much. Tell Matt that he can do whatever with Jon, but don't include you. You don't need your stuff taken, even if it IS just in a game. You played, hard for that stuff, and no one has the right to take it. As for the signal thing, Jon took it. It was proven because it was with him. If he's ballsy enough to take real s**t from you, it's obvious that he'd take things in game from you.

We should play D2 on battle.net sometime X3 I'm on USWest ^^ Anyways, Matt doesn't trust him anymore. He just likes to hang with him because he -is- a good person but we both agree he has a problem. He's been doing this for awhile I guess... And I asked Matt if he could stop hanging out with him because I don't want to hang out with a thief.. And he said that Jon doesn't admit to it and continues being an a** then, yes, we will both stop hanging out with him and stop being his friend. Yes we will be nice to him as a person because he is a nice person and Matt works with him, but he just won't be welcome at my house anymore, or be welcome at Matt's. @Sonic: You are right.. It's just this has happened to me before and it was so hard because she -was- one of my bestest friends ever. We'd been friends for about 4 years ._.; And just to have to do this again.. well it really pisses me off but at the same time hurts because I really should've known better, but once again my kind nature has blinded me again. Unfortunately I found out after cooking lunch (grilled cheese with egg sandwich!) that Jon can't come up tonight because of car troubles x_X; If I don't get my signal enhancer for my computer back by tomorrow I'm gonna call him and scream at him, and then hunt him down and sit in his work until he gives it back (they both work at the mall so I can sit in the back room while they work 'cuz they all lurve me). There's also no way to report him because there's no mods on D2 anymore. They've all been converted to WoW because WoW (World of Warcraft) makes more revenue than Diablo 2.. Therefore, D2 is kinda just.. left alone for the most part. We're basically ignored by Blizzard because we're an old and outdated game. This will only change when Diablo 3 comes out.. in a year or two o.O

Oh my gods! I play Diablo II too! but I'm on Europe. I cry. :'[
Anyway, in light of your situation;
Definately do not trust him ever again. Stealing things off your characters is wrong. okay, stealing computer stuff is even worse. but looking through your PERSONAL belongings to find your password.
That is unacceptable. I would kill him personally. I'm glad you changed your password.
I mean, if anyone did that to me (log on to my account) I would go beserk. (lolol barbarian.) even when my brother does it just to play on it. I get so annoyed. D<
In my opinion, The best thing to do would be; a) Confront him b) Never talk to him again.
If he has a good explaination (yeah right) then maybe you can be friends. but I personally. wouldn't ever again.

It -was- the same as my D2 pw ><; Anyways, He's allowed on my compy considering I have nothing important on it anymore. It was recently reformatted for the 204958320469th time 'cuz it kept screwing up and crashing at random (turned out I had a bad hard drive. Now I have a new one :3) So I have nothing on it except music, and that's on my external hard drive. No pictures, no documents, nothing. But I won't trust him on D2 either.. I'll just have my bf transfer me when I need it.. You should play West, 'cuz I can hook you up :3
