I'd have to say PS2 all the way.

I love the Play Station 2. I do have a Gamecube, Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, Nintendo and Gameboy SP. My girlfriend has a X-Box.
I have friends that have a Wii and X-Box 360.
The Wii friends are totaly inlove with it. It is a good system but they are like 'it's the best system in the whole world. Everything else sucks' To me it's not that good.
My 360 friend isn't as bad. Tho I hate the 36 for the simple fact that it wants you to sign in another account when you have two people playing and that bugs me a little.

"Personaly I respect the old systems but I like the newer games more now. When i have a kid i am going to force him to play the Nintendo first. That way when he finaly makes it to the Ps3 or whatever he'll have respect for everything."

A nice sentiment but probably unnecessary smile . I believe it really depends on what you are playing at what i'll call the golden age of gaming. The ages of 7-12 where you can play games 4-5 hours at a time without so much as a blink. Naturally when I was at that age I had only NES and SNES. Spent countless hours playing the Final Fantasy series trying to get my level 99 characters smile .

At around age 13.. well you know certain.. let's say "changes" happen smile . Priorities shift and socializing matters more. I actually missed the entire N64 and PS1 generation. Didn't re enter until the PS 2. By that time the magic of gaming was gone.. actually i'll rephrase that.. The magic of gaming alone was gone. I'm not a huge fan of playing games by yourself. If I can't have a buddy playing next to me or in the next room, at least I'd like to be playing against human opponents. Most things in life are just more fun when done with/to others ;P

What was my point in my typical long response? Hrm I don't remember now... Ah yes.. whatever you play at the golden age is probably going to be your favorite system. Geez I'm getting old sweatdrop

"truthfully I think you have a point with the whole playing with a friend thing. I play a game and get bored 2 or 3 hours into it. I remember playing Perfect Dark with my buddy for like 8 hours or WWF Smackdown. God i miss those days..."

I fit the typical girl-gamer stereotype, and my favorite games are RPGs ^_^ so of course my favorite system is going to be PS2. I'm sure I'll love the PS3 when I get one...
I've never played the gamecube except for the games that I already had on PS2.
Wii is oooookay, but there's only so many Mario games you can remake until the nintendo consoles get boring again. Plus there's that whole throwing the controller into the TV when you get overexcited.
I rebel against X-Box with a passion! I mean, come on. It's just a computer posing as a game console. Yeah, I tried Halo. I wasn't really impressed.

I'll never understand "let's hate xbox because it's a computer" viewpoint. All recent game consoles have computer components in them. Hell.. all consoles now are glorified computers. Hrm.. well except the Wii smile . Why single one out over the others? While I didn't play the xbox either the 360 is freakin incredible. Rebel with a passion? What did microsoft do to you? smile
