What is it that makes this pairing so addicting for some of us? Why are we so keen on liking it?
In short- What exactly is it about SasuSaku that makes you like it so?
Many in other fandoms believe we're shallow for liking a pairing that is solely "one-sided" or "just a mutual crush." Or, they reason that we ship SasuSaku because it's the "good-looking pair" in a triangle. Now, moments aside, they can argue this. But most of us (I hope) have deeper reasons why we ship SasuSaku.
What do you guys think?
How have you guys kept your faith?

To me, I think SasuSaku represents growing up. I like the way the relationship develops over time. It says to me that a relationship can survive those awkward early days where people got sweaty palms and blushed furiously whenever their crush walked up. It shows how a childhood relationship can evolve from those early stages into something more.
At first, Sakura was quite annoying. Hanging over Sasuke all the time, always asking him out, fawning over him when he got hurt. He became her biggest weakness. Then, as she grew, Sakura got over her "little girl" crush, and her feelings actually developed into full-fledged .. well, love. It may seem stupid and even unrequited to some people, but I look at the relationship in a deeper way and can see that the only plausible choice Sasuke could make is to choose Sakura. Not just because he needs someone to restore the Uchiha clan, not because she's available, but because he actually loves her.
.. lol. Is that stupid? *blushes*

Well, I'm attracted to SasuSaku because it seems everyone hates it. I'm the only one in my IRL group of friends that actually understands and loves it. The rest don't give a damn. I also love it for it's intelligent fans. biggrin
SasuSaku is a seed that needs to be cared for and tended to. As long as the sun shines bright, and as long as the rainy days ring cold showers, SasuSaku will grow strong. biggrin
At first, I hated Sakura because I didn't know her and I was a total shallow fangirl of Sasuke. ... Once I imagined him in tight black leather. heart _ heart But anyways, I thought Sasuke was the best, he had no flaws. Then, like Sakura, I realized he's not all that great. He has flaws, put downs, and does every action for a reason. I bet he even knows the consequences!
Sakura.... I'm afraid I didn't even KNOW she existed. I had started out on Card Captor Sakura, and it's famous pairing, LiSaku/SyaoranSaku. SasuSaku reminded me greatly of the earliest stages of my fave pairing. That was the second reason I liked it. I still thought Sakura has nobody though. Just someone that looked cute with Sasuke. As time went on and I read the manga, looked at the haters and lovers, and even myself... I realized she's much more then a play toy in my world. She could be my best friend if she was real!
The other reason, I'm afraid, was because of something very tragic. One of my best online friends HATED Sasuke because of what he did to Sakura and all that. I disagreed. I could never get on the same footing as her back then. She absolutely loved Sakura though. When it came to SasuSaku, she said Sasuke doesn't deserve Sakura. I don't think she had any particular pairing to go with Sakura. Whenever I brought up Sasuke, she would ignore me and log off. One night, my sister and her were talking about Sasuke. It was really bad. They were bashing him, calling him emo, and all that stuff. I couldn't do anything but lay on my bed and cry. My sister said I was a cry baby, but I had a reason to cry: I could do nothing to change their minds. Tat is, until I found an awesome Pro-Sasuke Essay. My sister had her mind changed about him, but my friend's mind set stayed the same. I don't think she even looked at it.... Soon after, I stopped seeing her all together on the game we played. I haven't seen or talked to her since.
..... Wow, big paragraph. xD

The plain simple reason why I like it, is because it's a textbook example of what could be a tragic love story. One that could include a lot of character development, et cetera. I don't know... it's just so hard to explain.
Plus, there's that classic bad-boy, good-girl thing going on, that NaruSaku and SasuIno just don't offer.
(I do LOVE NaruSaku, though)

Well, when I first saw Naruto (Middle of ep. 4 or 5, I think), I immediately fell in love with it because I thought it was cute. But as I watched more of the series, I grew to like the interaction and development the pairing and characters gained. And when I saw ep. 109, I admired Sakura's determination to prevent Sasuke from leaving, further displaying her love for him. In the time-skip, I loved how Sakura, instead of going into a depression, decided to train so she would be strong enough to bring him back.
Basicly, I love how limitless Sakura's love and dedication is.

For me Sasusaku has that tragic love story, I also like it for Sakura's determination to get Sasuke back and how she train to get stronger. I really admire her love for him from a little crush into something more. Hopefully Sasuke will come back and accept her feelings.
I wanted to say more but it's kind of hard to explain in typing so I'll just leave it at that.

I like sasusaku because i first started to see sasusaku fanart and then i got into the show, and i had a gaia account and found that there are a lot of people who like it so well, I decided to like it because i hadn't been introduced to other "great" pairings *am being sarcastic and am shot* so i just decided, "hey, this seems cute. I'm going to give it a chance." and now here i am over a year later still sopporting it with great force.

Rhoswenn- It's not stupid at all. ;3 SasuSaku is a relationship that experiences growth during the series. Perhaps the most (other than Naruto-Sasuke). Rhoswenn To me, I think SasuSaku represents growing up. I like the way the relationship develops over time. It says to me that a relationship can survive those awkward early days where people got sweaty palms and blushed furiously whenever their crush walked up. It shows how a childhood relationship can evolve from those early stages into something more. Well put. Most people tend to just label Sakura's crush as just that and think she will eventually grow out of it. But it is possible for a crush to develop into something stronger, something more. I believe Sakura's feelings have developed. While she no longer may fawn over Sasuke, I believe she still holds a deep affection and longing for him. Only love can push her to do what she has done. Even now, she's not faltering in her decision to bring him back. I'm also certain that her confession of her love (or "really really like you to DEATH" statement) back in Chapter 181 holds major significance to Sakura's character. I hope Kishimoto doesn't just drop that. Rhoswenn It may seem stupid and even unrequited to some people, but I look at the relationship in a deeper way and can see that the only plausible choice Sasuke could make is to choose Sakura. Not just because he needs someone to restore the Uchiha clan, not because she's available, but because he actually loves her. heart heart

As long as the sun shines bright, and as long as the rainy days ring cold showers, SasuSaku will grow strong. biggrin xD I can understand that sentiment pretty well. I always wondered why people hated the pairing so much. Because Sakura crushed on Sasuke and worried about him? Because it got in the way of NaruSaku/SasuNaru? >__> It's a really understandable pairing once one really looks into it. You can see why people ship it once you pay attention to the SasuSaku scenes/moments in the manga. You can't ignore the hug/confession of love. <3 Yes we're intelligent. PeacefulLight The other reason, I'm afraid, was because of something very tragic. One of my best online friends HATED Sasuke because of what he did to Sakura and all that. I disagreed. I haven't seen or talked to her since. Aww, I'm sorry. sad It's understandable that people may not like the same characters, but to ignore a friendship because of it is immature. I really dislike it when Sasuke is bashed, mostly because people do it for the dumbest reasons. I can't begin to describe how much I hate the "HE'S EMOOO" argument. -___- Some of the Sasuke essays are very-well written and quite insightful. I personally started out kinda iffy about Sasuke's character but when a light was shed on his past, he became my favorite. Sakura also took a while to grow on me. I suppose it was when I saw that she was truly worried and dedicated to Sasuke that I dropped my early "she's not very useful..." thought of her. There are some extremely well-written Sakura-centric essays that also helped to change my mind. Don't worry. We all support SasuSaku which means we support both Sakura and Sasuke. We may favor one over the other, but we still love them both, especially together. heart

She was willing to give up her world for Sasuke in Chapter 181 ("I'd do anything for you") when she confessed her undying love for him ("I love you to death!") and she still is in the present. She almost died in her fight against Sasori just to find out Sasuke's possible whereabouts. Like you put it, that displays Sakura's limitless love and dedication. heart

Yami-Tsukiyomi- Nice answer. heart We have already seen that Sasuke acknolwedged Sakura's feelings (his "thank you" to Sakura in Chapter 181), now we just have to hope he accepts them if he comes back. :3 briluffs I like sasusaku because i first started to see sasusaku fanart and then i got into the show, and i had a gaia account and found that there are a lot of people who like it so well, I decided to like it because i hadn't been introduced to other "great" pairings *am being sarcastic and am shot* so i just decided, "hey, this seems cute. Well... My "Why I Love SasuSaku" essay is posted in a couple of places - the Resource thread and my journal. But... I dunno if I should just quote and paste it here...
Whatever. I'll type it out as concisely as I can.
First of all, I think SasuSaku is one of the few couples that ever nears canon status in the series. Seeing as I love being right, I would choose this couple.
Another reason is that Sakura and Sasuke's sides in the relationship grow as the series flows. What I mean is, their personalities grow more to fit each other. There's development in their characters while their relationship flourishes.
Also, the themes of the their relationship jibe with some of the themes in Naruto, like acceptance and reaching goals.
There's also the fact that SasuSaku might allow other characters to have pairings of their own. Like if NaruSaku isn't possible, there's always NaruHina. Or since SasuIno is as likely as hell freezing over, there's always ShikaIno, ChouIno, or SaiIno.
Plus there's Kishimoto. He's implied about their relationship so many times through the plot. There's so much plot build-up that I think he's going to have another think coming if he suddenly trashes the idea.
Hmm... still longish. But that's love. heart

Hehe, it took me awhile. I actually had to think for a few days about this. .__.;;
Well, at first I hated SasuSaku, which was because I hated Sakura. Who, at the time, was a useless, annoying brat. ( Yeah, this was when I only watched the dub ) But when I started to get more into Naruto ( and started reading the manga ) I then saw how much Sakura had grown, and thus, eventually began to like SasuSaku. I suppose, that would be the reason I love SasuSaku. It's just very real. Not like those other animes/manga, where the love is automaticly there, the characters must question their feelings, or there's one of those 'I hate you... oh, but now I love you' type of relatioships. Because, seriously, how many times does that happen in real life? I do like fantasy, but when it comes to emotions, I prefer them to be real. It's like, I can connect with real characters better than Prince Charming.
For the record, I do not believe Sasuke was a 'I hate you... but now I love you' type. Not once did Sasuke ever say he hated Sakura ( nor Naruto ). Annoying? Yes. But that is not the same thing. I think some people fail to see that. I even have friends who can get on my nerves sometimes. Annoying does not always = hate. Although I know I would never bluntly tell my friends they're annoying, that's just how Sasuke is, and I am most deffinately not Sasuke. Besides, his harsh words helped Sakura, and made her a better person. How is that wrong? Besides, Sasuke was annoyed by her nagging, I think. And who wouldn't? Sasuke had a goal, to kill the brother who had taken away everything he held dear to him, and Sakura ( and Naruto ) were holding him back. Why? Because they loved him. The love was stronger than his anger. That's why he needed to leave. If he again found things to hold onto, he was afraid they'd be taken away from him again. Atleast, that's what I believe. Sasuke didn't leave Sakura because he didn't love her, no, it was the opposite of that.
That is just not something you see in many mangas. Their love isn't perfect, it isn't happy, and isn't cliche. It's real. They have hard times, but I believe they'll get through them. Because, love is not just about seeing the good in someone, but seeing -and accepting- the bad things, too. Naruto has always tried to change the bad things. He's trying to change what Sasuke believes in. He wants him to come back, he wants him to be different. But some things never change. Sakura could only see that. After she pleaded to him stay, when he said no, she knew she could only accept. Sakura was willing to go with him. She was willing to accept the things the way they were, she was willing to accept his choice, who he is, and what he wants to become. Somethings Naruto may never really understand. That's why SasuSaku is 'perfect'. They can accept each other, and grow. They may dissagre, but they were always there for each other. Sakura wanted to be there, even if it would hurt her to leave, and even if Sasuke found her annoying, he still protected her. There's no love without acceptance, and that's something SasuSaku always had, when SasuNaru or NaruSaku didn't. That's why I can keep my faith in them: The only thing SasuSaku lacks is those last words from Sasuke.

I liked the SasuSaku pairing for as long as I can remember. Probably just by the way its shown, is why I'm hooked. I mean even though Sasuke can be a mean person towards Sakura (or more like jerk), I know that deep down inside (yes, that sounds so corny) that he does have some sort of feeling towards her. And I think that this pairing was one of my first favorite anime pairings ever. 3nodding heart
