I thought it would be interesting to see what you're all interested in lately, so just talk about the albums you've bought lately, who's on them, whether you like them or not, best songs on the albums, and so on.
I recently purchased four jazz albums: two by Chet Baker and two by Stan Getz (I almost put Paul Desmond by accident; I confuse the two all the time because they sound so alike). The Chet Baker albums are My Funny Valentine and Too Cool. I've listened to a bit of each and they are wonderful albums; My Funny Valentine has become one of my favorite jazz ballads, and Chet Baker's incredible tone on trumpet mixed with his sweet singing is a joy to listen to. One of the Stan Getz (crap! I almost typed Paul Desmond again!) albums, Getz Plays Jobim: The Girl From Ipanema, I had before and I bought it again because I lost the other CD. This is a great album with most of the finest Bossa Novas that Stan Getz ever played, including The Girl From Ipanema, One Note Samba (both the instrumental and the vocal version, and Chega de Saudade. The other album, The Definitive Stan Getz has some of his all-time hits, and they are great songs as I'm listening to them right now. So far I like Early Autumn, Moonlight in Vermont, and East of the Sun (And West of the Moon). I recommend all of these great albums.

I usually don't "buy" my music per se, but I kind of want to get Buble's newest album. I like his voice smile

Most recent one for me is McCoy Tyner and the Latin Jazz All-stars. He plays with Ignacio Berroa (drums), Giovanni Hidalgo (congas) , Gary Bartz (saxophones), Dave Valentin (flute), Steve Turre (trombone), Avery Sharpe (bass), and Claudio Roditi (trumpet). Just buy the damn thing, it's some really good Cuban jazz with some of the best players in the world. It's one of those things that gives you goosebumps.

Saxophone Colossus is good stuff. My most recent is Herbie Hancock's Possibilites, which is actually not half bad.
