In all honesty though, his facial features were a big indicator of his race. And ******** all who scream political correctness. ALL races have their distinct look. Some are more pronounced than others.

MMmmmm, the demon was delicious. And yes, he was black, and no, that's not politically incorrect. There's something to be said for embracing the individuality of each people. Homogeneity is boring and almost as bad as racism. 'cause it's like "we're going to make you all the same, ie, just like us." Ick.

How did it confuse me? Well I was...11 the first time I read it, so I was puzzling over what happened at the end. I knew what happened but at the time, I had only read stories with happy endings so I knew it had to be wrong. (I was a gifted child but mein gott was I stupid XD)
How did it make me cry and sick to my stomach?
It was so stupid and pointless and UNFAIR to hobble people. instead of trying to make everyone look and dance and sound as good as everyone else, they made them as bad as everyone else.
Sheer frustration over that, plus the fact they...well...you know how it ends.
