Ok. I'm gonna pull out Twilight here...

On page 16, chapter 1 of Twilight, Bella explains to Eric why she is so pale.
"You don't look very pale."
"My mother is part albino."

Then on page 10, chapter 1, Bella looks at herself in the mirror, describing her skin.
"My skin could be pretty-- it was very clear, almost translucent-looking..."

This may just be a coincidence, but I think that she may be related to a vampire. That would somewhat explain why a vampire's power wouldn't work on her. I know albinism isn't exactly rare, but it could happen. :0 What do you think??

Very good idea.
There's just one problem~
Vampires can't have kids. D:

Ugh, I can't find where it says that on Lexicon, but it's there some where. D:

Wouldn't that mean all albinos were related to vampires? And vampires aren't immune to each other's powers; Edward can read Alice's mind, and Alice can see everyone's future. Plus, again, Bella is only immune to powerss directly affecting her mind, not every power. And vampires can't have kids, so she would only be related to one if one of her family members was turned, and that wouldn't mess with her appearance at all.

My question about that is why would the smell of blood make her sick?

Where did it ever say Twilight vampires can't have kids/sex? You're thinking Lestat the vampire, which being quite stereotypical. Be orginal! Take a chance!

Besides, her 'power' as you so put it wouldn't be very strong, if its only a small part of her ancestry is vampire. So, her 'power' is that other vampire powers concerning her mind don't work on her.

Stephenie Meyer has stated several times that the vampires in her universe cannot have children. They can have sex, but they cannot have kids. Therefore, even if any of Bella's ancestors were vampires, they would have been changed after having children and would not affect Bella at all.

This is from the lexicon, from Personal Correspondance number 1:

And since we’re talking physiology…I’ve had tons of people ask if vampires can have babies. The answer is no. When someone becomes a vampire, it’s as if they are frozen exactly as they are in that moment. His or her (and we’ll go with her because it’s more central to this discussion) body no longer experiences change. Hair does not grow, nor do fingernails (if you cut your hair, you’re stuck. That’s why Alice’s hair is so short–it was growing back from being shaved in the asylum). This applies to all changes–so a woman would no longer have any kind of ovulation cycle. If she were already pregnant when she was bitten, both she and the fetus would be frozen in that state. Which would really suck–pregnant for eternity? I’m shuddering at the thought.

This is part of the answer to the eighth question down.

She was also joking about the albino thing.

There's a difference between albino-ism and just natural paleness.

There is a huge difference between natural paleness and albino-ism. I have a friend who has mild albino-ism and he fits in really well where I live because every body on the western side of the cascade mountains is really pale. From the olympic peninsula to the cascade mountain range, there is very little sun during the year except for april (a little) to August. We are all pale. It is just what happens when there is no sun.

Actually, it's just the same. The male vampire's body will no longer be able to produce sperm after the transformation, just like a female's ovulation cycle will stop.

And because an erection would be impossible in a vampiric state (because there's no flow of blood), there'd be no way to impregnate a woman anyway.

That is a good hypothesis, however, Bella is only immune to powers of the mind...Such as Aro, Edward, and the female Volturi (I can't remember her name). Alice, Jasper, and the Volturi that can sense relationships (yet again, can't remember his name) all can use their powers on Bella without any difficulties. Thus, as Bella feared, her mind does not work the same as others.
