Did you keep Umbra or get the Mask?Lets hope you werent stupid enough to get the mask its only +20 Personality or something like that,compared to Umbra its' pathetic.Even if you dont use blades its still a nice thing for a mage to have or if you arnt a mage and want to Soul Trap something.Umbra is actually 3 points better the Duskfang/Dawnfang in the pure dmg(not the enchanted Frost/fire dmg.I have a 100 blade skill so im sure it does 30 dmg to someone with a 100 skill.
Umbra does 30 dmg per hit
Duskfang/Dawnfang 27 dmg per hit
Though i do still use Dawnfang/Duskfang.

For my main char (I have completed all the shrines) I kept Umbra. But on my merc (has no use for blades or mage skills) I gave up so I could have the mask...kinda got old looking at a orc all day xd

Why the hell would you need soul trap for 120 seconds? You kill in ONE. And it's base damage is high, but it doesn't have ANY offensive enchantments. Just the soul trap.
Goldbrand is FAR superior. Hell, most enchanted weapons in the game are.
And why did I keep the Masque?
Because it's fashionable as hell. Also, my Khajiit character has sort of a samurai thing going on, and the mask fits in perfectly with that.

I kept Umbra, however I ended up just chucking it in a chest in my house. It was too heavy, and the damage it dealt wasn't that great compared to my other weapons. And I already had a Soultrap spell, so it was kind of pointless.
So now I go around with my arsenal of enchanted swords, moving onto the next sword when the enchantment on one wears out. And Umbra sits in Chorrol, gathering dust with the rest of my useless weapons.

I kept Umbra. and I still use it. Why? My guy can hold like 1100lbs (without the Gray cowl equipped) because of all the enchantments, so Umbra isn't that much extra to carry. And ineed a soul trap since all my weapons are enchanted.
also wasn't there a major bug or something with this quest?

I kept umbra...I keep it with me. Mostly just to have for when all my enchanted items run dry, and I need a sword.

I kept Umbra. I mean, its a pretty cool sword, its got good stats, and it looks cool. I don't keep it enchanted, I don't really need soul trap, but Its good to have an unenchated sword incase or resistances or you run out of enchantments.

Or maybe when you recieved the masque it froze. I didnt want to risk my game freezing so I kept the sword.

Like the staff with the "corrupt" enchantment. What the hell dose it do? a spiced up Frenzy? any way I'm digressing. I have almost all the spells in the game (no joke I cleaned out the mages guild when I had to much cash one day) so items like Umbra get shoved aside for my huge libray of spells and super large magica resivour.

honestly, i haven't done this quest yet, but i know i'll get the mask because its an easy way to switch up between my dull breton and something cool looking. not to mention i'm training to be an assassin so to speak (i call it my shadow maester class.) so i have no use for blades.
